Jadavpur University has seen a rapid growth in placement over the years. The institution has a good placement record with the highest salary package of INR 42 LPA whereas the average salary stood at INR 19.96 LPA. The University holds 80% of the total placement record.

Hey
Private jobs and Government jobs both have their advantages and disadvantages depending on work, balance and pay. Salient features of both job types are mentioned below:
Government Jobs:
Private Jobs:
It depends upon the candidate, what he/she prefers and would like to work in as in upcoming future.
Anand, if you look at any of the Government job notifications, the eligibility criteria is simple. You should have completed your Bachelor's degree or Master's degree. Sometimes there is a stream mentioned and sometimes few Government jobs do not even need specific stream specialisations. For example, take UPSC. For being eligible for UPSC, you should have completed your Bachelor's degree in any discipline. It doesn't mention a particular stream or an aggregate or not even the minimum no.of years that one should have completed their Graduation in. But there are few jobs which specify that the Graduation shouldn't have taken more than 6 years. But in your case, you are fine because it is a matter of 1 year. For 97% of the exams that you want to apply for, this might not even be an issue. There might be a minute 3% of the jobs which may have specifications like first attempt pass, etc but if you look at the bright side you can test for 97% of the opportunities. So when you are applying for any Government examination or a job, just look at the eligibility criteria and apply accordingly. Good luck:)
Greetings, aspirant!
There are a plethora of exams that you can appear for to get a government job.
These would include UPSC Civil Services Examination which are a gateway to build a career in Civil services by being an IAS officer, IPS officer, IFS officer etc. These examinations are difficult to crack, but the pay off is worth it.
There are also a bunch of examination held by government bodies such as SBI, RBI, LIC etc when there are vacancies to hire individuals. These examinations are not easy either, but having a job in one of these institutions is as prestigious as it gets.
You can also opt to become a professor by appearing for examinations such as NET/SET. A government Institution professor gets a good pay compared to many other jobs for freshers.
In all fairness, there are many government jobs in India. In fact, Indian Railways is one of the largest employer organisations in the world. But there is an equal amount of competition to get a government job due to the many benefits it comes with.
But with enough hardwork and dedication, you can definitely land a really good and high profile job, irrespective of it being a government job or not.
Hope this information helps
Best of luck!!
