Hello Aspirant,
Both Masters in Public Health and MBA in Healthcare can keep you connected to healthcare sector, hence you should select based on your interest and career goals. While the MBA may offer a greater chance of pursuing management-focused occupations, the MPH prepares students for hands-on leadership and research in positions throughout the public health field,it is more research oriented . In MPH you will acquire an in depth knowledge about economic, social and environmental aspects influencing the well being of individuals, families and communities .You would cover subjects such as epidemiology, biostatistics, health administration and policy, social and behavioral health, environmental health and such. When it comes MBA ,it will be a blend of healthcare and business.MBA will generally cover subjects such as financial, accounting, strategic planning, marketing management, economics , statistics etc as a part of business management and health care product development, health service delivery, staffing management, regulatory, legal frameworks etc as a part of healthcare sector. So basically after MPH you may be more suitable in social welfare projects, NGOs,private or govt. organizations which deals with public health. Whereas with an MBA you would be more suitable for business organizations in Healthcare industry under various areas like finance management, marketing, human resource, supply chain, advertising etc. Therefore, if you want to work in the policy side of health care, as an administrator or research scientist or assistant at a public health agency, nonprofit or research organization,go for MPH ,you can work as Public Health Management Analyst,Research Scientist,Health Resources Professional,Public Relation Officer,Health Counsellor,Health & Safety Specialist and likewise prominently in the govt.sector. Instead if you are business-minded with a desire for management-level positions at companies in the health care sector choose MBA. Salary will depend on your designation and organization.
