I want to pursue a BA in History and choose subjects that will help me in the field of law in the future and also improve my placement prospects.
Hello Aspirant
The perfect field of study if you are planning on pursuing an LLB in the future would be a BA in Political Science. History is also good but Political Science gives you an idea of the political realm of India, the constitution, structures, and bodies of the government.
If you have made up your mind about choosing a BA in History as your honors subject, that is also good. For your secondary subject, you can choose Political Science and Economics because even outside of the BA LLB program, these subjects have the potential to offer numerous job opportunities.

My gmr is 6 in Pubdet for ug level history honours. Will i get a chance to study there?
Hello student
Congratulations on your PUBDET result!
With a General Merit Rank (GMR) of 6, you have a good chance of getting admitted to the University of Calcutta for UG level History Honours. However, the final selection depends on various factors, including:
1. _College-wise cutoffs_: Each college under the University of Calcutta has its own cutoff ranks. If your GMR meets the cutoff of a particular college, you'll be eligible for admission.
2. _Seat availability_: The number of seats available for History Honours in each college will also impact your chances.
3. _Category-wise ranks_: If you belong to a reserved category (e.g., SC, ST, OBC), your category-wise rank will be considered.
To estimate your chances, check the previous year's cutoff ranks for History Honours in the colleges under the University of Calcutta. If your GMR is close to or better than the cutoffs, you have a good chance of getting admitted.
Some popular colleges for History Honours under the University of Calcutta include:
1. Presidency University
2. Scottish Church College
3. Lady Brabourne College
4. Loreto College
5. Maulana Azad College
Keep an eye on the college websites and the University of Calcutta's official website for cutoff lists and admission updates. Good luck!
I gave CUET Exam this year. Now I have to make preference list for Delhi University. I want to keep my preferences in History, Political science and Sankrit, but I did not have sanskrit in Class XII and would not be able to do subject mapping of it. So can I add Sanskrit in my preference list?
Hello there,
Yes, you can pick Sanskrit in your preference list in CSAS 2024 Phase 2. It is not necessarily required to have Sanskrit in your class 12th. You still can study it in college. And for Sanskrit the cutoff is quite less than other subjects, that can lead you to a good DU college.
I hope you will do good.

i have done 3 year bachelor degree in history through calicut university open stream entrance exam and along with it plus 2 nios which i passed both io n 2020.. does canada accept me for masters program??
Hello Aspirant
Foreign Universities require a candidate to have a 4-year Bachelor's degree from a recognized University/college with enough credits. The problem that many Indian students face is that they have a degree in bachelor's but in a 3-year course. This stops them from pursuing further studies at a foreign university. Still, some universities offer bridge courses for such students. For this, they need to reach their universities 2-3 months prior and do the Bridge course. But all of this depends on the university. This is why NEP introduced the new 4-year bachelor's course.
The best course of action is to go to the Canadian Universities' websites that you wish to join and contact their admissions office via mail and talk to them about your situation, they'll help you out with it. Also, when you sit for their interviews and have a valid answer for your gap year after your Bachelor's, it would be great if you have work experience for that duration.
Hope this helps.
my rake is 117 in pucet pg MA history kya mari addmission hoo pyagi Punjab University ma or hostel ma be
Hello Aspirant
A good or, let's say a safer rank in the PU-CET exam for admission to Punjab University for a person belonging to the general category is between 90-110.
The number of seats available in the Department of History, P.U., Chandigarh. is 50, which includes reserved seats for 5 NRIs and 3 International students. In BAM Khalsa College, Garhshankar, Distt. Hoshiarpur, the number of seats for MA History is 60. This makes a total of 110 seats. So, if you are in the top 110, it'll be a good rank and you will get selected. If you are an NRI, then your admission chances would be great. 117 is a bit doubtful but don't lose hope, some students take their admissions back due to many reasons. Wait for their notifications

Arts student 10+2 subject Bengali, English, Geography, philosophy, Nutrition & History. How to appear CUET 2025. UG course Bachelor of Performing Arts (Dance).
You can definitely appear for CUET 2025 aiming for a Bachelor of Performing Arts (Dance) program.
You will choose one language from the options available (Bengali or English in your case) and attempt 40 questions out of 50.
You can pick three or four subjects relevant to your desired program (Bachelor of Performing Arts - Dance). Since you don't have any performing arts subjects in your 10+2, you'll need to choose other relevant options.
-

This could demonstrate your knowledge of art forms and cultural contexts related to dance.
-
Geography:
Might be relevant if the program focuses on dance forms from different regions.
-
Philosophy:
Could showcase your analytical and critical thinking skills.
-
You can also consider other options like Sociology or Psychology that might be connected to performing arts depending on the specific program requirements.
Section III (General Test) (Optional): This section is not mandatory and tests reasoning, general knowledge, and numerical abilities. You can choose to attempt it or skip it based on your strengths and the weightage the program assigns to this section
