my neet score 592 , rank 23556...any chance for govt seat in Odisha under state quata belong to general category ????...?please any one have idea so please reply

Anurag Khanna 17th Oct, 2020

Hello Aspirant,

So on such rank and category you have good chances of getting Government medical colleges in Odisha under state quota according to previous year's cut-off. As we go through previous year's cut-off then it shows that you can get following colleges :-

  • PRM Medical College & Hospital, Baripada
  • S L N Medical College & Hospital, Koraput
  • Govt. Medical College & Hospital, Balasore
  • Govt. Medical College, Balangir

You can check out previous year's cut-offs from the link given below :-

https://medicine.careers360.com/articles/neet-cutoff-odisha

Note that the above prediction is made on the basis of previous year's cut-off and the cut-offs are bound to change every year depending upon various factors such as the number of candidates appearing in an examination, the number of candidates qualifying an examination, difficulty level of the paper, and so on.

To have a list of all those colleges which you can get based upon your marks, category, and state you can use NEET College Predictor:-

I hope this information helps you.

Good Luck!!

is it good idea to do mbbs from abroad?

Saunkita Mallick 16th Oct, 2020

Hello, hope you are doing well!

Definitely its a very good idea to pursue MBBS from abroad but you can get the same quality of education here in your home country too. I would like to answer your question step by step considering all the facts that you should mandatorily keep in mind when you decide to pursue MBBS out of India. These are the following points:-

1. The minimum eligibility requirement reads as follow for studying MBBS in abroad-

  • The aspirant has to be of age 17 years plus as on 31st December in the admission year.
  • The student should be from PCM stream i.e. Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
  • The student must have passed 12th standard with an aggregate marks of at least 50% in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and must have English as a compulsory subject.
  • You need to clear NEET for admission in any country in abroad. NEET result is valid for a period of 3 years for MBBS admission in abroad.

2. The duration of the course varies from country to country. Mostly students go for a 5-year course. However, the duration is of 5.8 years in some of the best countries to pursue MBBS abroad like Russia and Ukraine, and 4-6 years in Philippines.

3. Another big decision is cost or fees for the total course. In USA, Australia, Canada, UK, New Zeland, EU countries are more expensive compared to doing MBBS in countries like Philippines, Ukraine, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, China. If you wish to study in colleges that are in USA, Australia, Canada, New Zeland or the UK, your budget should be in excess of 1 crore. Also, there are entrance exams you need to crack.

4. Make sure you do your MBBS from an university that has the approval by Medical Council of India(MCI) so that you can work in India after pursuing the course.

5. MBBS in Abroad is a great career choice as it gives many options to students graduating from these Universities. After MBBS from abroad, a student will have the following options:

  • Come back to in India and appear for FMGE or the MCI Screening Test to work here.
  • After completing your degree in abroad, you can pursue masters in any country or even work in other countries after clearing that particular country's entrance exam.
  • If you study in US, you can apply for USMLE to settle down or practice in the US. USMLE has 3 steps and those who clear all the 3 steps, get Permanent Registration from the medical council of the USA to practice there. PLAB, which is the licensing exam of the UK is another popular choice of students pursuing MBBS from UK.

Its a little detailed answer but I hope it helped you with all the information that you needed to know. All the best!

Hello Akash,

To prepare for MPSC from scratch, first start to clear your basics about all relevant subjects.  For preparation of MPSC, you can start reading basics books of MH state Board from standard 5th to 12th of History, Geography, Polity(Civics), science.

Start reading Daily newspaper for current affairs. For starting, you can read "Loksatta" newspaper published in Marathi.

Also, for Current Affairs, you can use any coaching centres' monthly booklet. They can be downloaded from their Channels on Telegram and also from their Website.

Speaking of Standard books, you can read Indian Polity by Laxmikant, Spectrum and Grover for History and G.C. leonge, NCERT 11th-12th, Majid Husain for Geography.

These readings can be used for starting the studies and you have to make a good knowledge base for all the Subjects. So start studying from now for MPSC so that you'll have plenty of time for preparation given that you are in 1st year.

Good Luck with your preparation...

Any one here can say by current situation expected cutoff by analysis of odisha under state quata for general category.... please if have any idea please reply...please

S. Saha Student Expert 11th Oct, 2020
It is quite difficult to predict any cutoffs as it depends on various factors such as the number of candidates appeared for the examination, highest score obtained, number of seats available etc. As these quantities change every year so it is difficult to predict. But you can get an overview of the cutoffs if you go through the last year's data. For example, SCB Medical College usually has the highest cutoffs among all the government colleges. Last year the cutoff score for general category candidate under state quota was around 535 marks while SLN Medical College and Hospital, government medical college and Hospital Balasore, Govt medical college Balangir etc had the almost same cutoffs. On an average, scoring at least 500 marks in Neet can fetch you a government seat in Odisha. You can go through this link for checking the last year's cutoffs http://medicine.careers360.com/articles/neet-cutoff-odisha But keep in mind that these are last year's data and it can change these year.
