Established in the year 1967 Indian Institute of Food Processing Technology is located in Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu. The college is affiliated with Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU), Chennai.

IIFPT Thanjavur offers three courses :

1. four-year duration B.Tech course in Food Processing Engineering,

2. M.Tech of two-year duration in two specializations, and

3. Ph.D. program of three-year duration.

Candidates who have passed 10+2 examination in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with minimum 45% marks are considered eligible to join B.Tech Course and can apply through online mode of the application on the official website of the college.
