Shivanshu 4th Sep, 2022

Dear aspirant!

Hope you are doing well ! No at 62 marks ,you can't get admission in any iit through jee advanced exam . For a general candidate ,you need to get at least 35-40 percent of total marks .while for a reserved candidate like obc and ews you need to have at least 30 percent means above 100 marks ,for sc and st candidates of you have 90+ marks then you can get lower branch in lower iits of India .

Hope it helps you!

Thanking you

I got 82 marks in jee advanced iam GEN EWS can I get seat in iit

gupta.virat1357 5th Sep, 2022
Hello Aspirant,
According to the rank and category mentioned by you in the question you have almost no chances of getting into any of the IITs even after considering 10% reservation quota for EWS as cut-offs for EWS category closes around 1000-1500 in all IITs as per past cut-off trends. How to Get EWS (Economically Weaker Section) Certificate for IIT JEE Main and JEE Advanced? From academic year 2019-20, there will be 10% reservation quota for the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) among General Category candidates in higher education engineering institutes (like IITs and NITs). EWS means economically backward section. EWS rank is the rank among the EWS students only. For example, if 1000 candidates attended the exam and there are 100 EWS candidates; if you are better than 500 candidates overall and better than 50 candidates from EWS then your general rank is 499 and your EWS rank is 49. You submitted EWS certificate. Now you secured 450 but the seats under EWS Category are filled but General Category seats are vacant. You will not be considered under EWS Category. Candidates belonging to General Category who have scored less than 450 will be given chance. An average of 500 seats will be offered to the candidates belonging from the economically weaker section of the society by the Indian Institute of Technology. This will be implemented from the academic year 2019 2020, as reported by Hindustan Times. The cut-off for qualifying for JEE (Advanced) was 89.75 percentile for open category students, and for EWS quota, it was 78.21percentile. Data from IITs indicate that EWS students who did not take advantage of the lower cut-offs, have scores above 89.75 percentile.

I got 16 marks in jee advanced, can I get seat in iit?

gupta.virat1357 3rd Sep, 2022
Hey Aspirant! So, for getting good IIT Institute via Jee Advanced your score must be around 200 or 210. And the minimum marks around 150-160 (General) to get any branch in any IIT Institute because there are only around 11,000 seats are available in all the IITs. With only 16 marks, its impossible to get into IIT. Unless you have pwd quota you won't get into IIT. There is a pre decided cutoff of total 35% marks for general candidates to get into merit list. And you even need as high as 45% marks to get a seat.  As per the new changes and relaxation introduced in eligibility of JEE Advanced 2021, students will not be required to fullfill minimum eligibility marks of 75% (65% for ST/ SC) in 12th level to get admission in IIT. Students passing 12th level & JEE Main will be eligible for JEE Advanced. The candidates must have secured at least 75% marks or be in the top 20 percentile in the 12th Class Examination conducted by respective boards. For SC/ST students, there shall be a relaxation of 5% in this criterion. To be eligible for JEE Advanced 2022, candidates must qualify JEE Main 2022 (Paper 1) and rank among the top 2,50,000 (including all categories) candidates in B.E./B. Tech. Candidates who secure a rank in JEE Advanced 2021 exam will be eligible to participate in the Joint Seat Allocation process for seats in IITs. Candidates seeking admission into IITs will have to complete the JoSAA 2021 registration and choice filling process by submitting their preferred courses and institutes.

I got 80 marks in Advance.can you say my general rank and st female category rank. can I get seat in any IIT csc.

gupta.virat1357 18th Sep, 2022
Hello,
JEE Advanced Marks vs Rank 2019
AIR (All India Rank) Marks
1                                346
10                              310
40-45                       280-285
80-90                     273-279
Sorry to say but 80 marks is not good enough to crack the paper of jee advance for sc/st/obc category students and if she belong to general then don't even think about it. All you can do is get her motivated and prepare for the next year or take admission in other state government colleges.
IIT Reservation For Girls: Everything You Need To Know. This decision to implement 14 percent IIT reservation for girls has been taken by MHRD to promote higher education for women in India. The decision, however, has raised questions and confusion regarding the admission of male candidates.
For 80 marks , you can easily get into an IIT seat. But the rank will be around 2500-3000 for such marks in SC rank. The cut-off of JEE Advanced is the minimum qualifying marks the student needs to secure to be included in the rank list.
Almost all engineering colleges in India reserve a minimum of 5% of seats for women. To avail of this policy, JEE Main female applicants should apply under the women's quota system. JEE Main female applicants who fall under the PwD category will get an additional 3% reservation in top engineering colleges in India.

Which colleges (Jadavpur/St Xaviers college/Presidency) bsc physics course is better for IIT JAM preparation for Msc Physics?

Jyoti Eyasmin 30th Aug, 2022

Dear Student ,

JU and PU cannot be compared because JU has tech departments that include science and the arts while PU does not. Tech JU receives more funds as a result, making it simpler for the science department to work with technology. Now, if you compare the science department at JU with PU, JU enjoys greater advantages due to the proximity of two national CSIR laboratories. Since PU doesn't have as many good facilities, students can go there and easily take NMR, Mass, UV, etc.; hence, research is doable at JU rather than PU. However, PU is superior over JU if you take into account UG. Majors from PU are eligible for JAM or another entrance besides JU.

Here’s some tips for IIT JAM -

Step 1: The first and most crucial stage is to properly analyse and comprehend the exam's need. how ? Take a hard copy of the JAM curriculum and the database of previous year's questions. Try to assess your level now to see how much you are capable of. In order to decide, this activity is crucial. Either you conduct your own research and preparation or you need assistance (coaching). Make a clear and informed choice. Join us if you want advice.

Step 2: Choosing the appropriate study material. To improve your understanding, you must read good novels. The coaching study material is another resource that you can use.

Which colleges( Jadavpur or Presidency) physics honours course is better for IIT JAM preparation for Msc Physics

Mannat Arora 30th Aug, 2022

Dear student,

Jadavpur University has been ranked 11th among the top universities of India. It offers a 3 year Bsc in physics course where the highest package offered has been 8 lakhs and lowest of 3 lakhs. Total fees of this course is 7k.

The major recruiting companies for this stream are ISRO,Samsung etc. The University supports both theoretical and research based knowledge and many students have cleared IIT Jam as well.

You can read more about this course in JU, on our article here-

Presidency college is a research college of Kolkata. It also offers a 3 year Bachelor's degree in physics. Total fees of this course is 13k. The highest package offered has been 7 lakhs and many students have cleared IIT JAM as well.

You can read more about this college on our article here-

according to me you should go for Jadavpur University as it is more modern in terms of infrastructure, lab equipments and education.

IIT JAM is a pg level exam to get entrance into the top institutes of India like IITs,IISERs etc. The preparation of this exam is mainly done by students by self study or by joining coaching institutes. College professors can clear your doubts but they won't pay much attention to your preparation. So,go for a college where you feel the faculty will be good and your basic concepts will be cleared.

hope this helped.

best of luck!
