My gate score is 583 and rank is 1642(CSE). Can i get New iits or good NITs. My CGPA is 7.1 .

Anurag Khanna 20th Mar, 2022

Hello Aspirant,

Since you have not mentioned the category so considering it as General.

If we go through the analysis of previous year's GATE score Vs College allotment than according to the GATE 2022 score mentioned by you in the query you have very less chances of getting CSE in any of the IITs or NITs because their cut-offs are somewhere around 700+ marks for General category so I would recommend you to go with some private colleges in states like Andhra Pradesh , Telangana and some others because some private colleges also accept admission on the basis of GATE score.

You can check out previous year's cut-offs from the links given below :-

https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/gate-cutoff

GATE 2022 Cutoff for IITs - Check GATE 2022 Cut off for M.Tech Admission (careers360.com)

Note that the above prediction is made on the basis of latest cut-offs and the cut-offs are bound to change every year depending upon various factors such as the number of candidates appearing in an examination, the number of candidates qualifying an examination, difficulty level of the paper, and so on.

To have a list of all those colleges which you can get based upon your GATE 2022 Score and category you can use GATE College Predictor :-

I hope this information helps you.

Sir I had got 409 GATE SCORE and AIR 1685 IN GATE XE paper. I belong to EWS category. Can I expect a seat in top iits.

Sree Student Expert 19th Mar, 2022

Hello aspirant,

**As cut-offs changes from year to year and depends on many factors, it is difficult to predict in which College you have chances of getting seat.

**Based on previous year's cut-offs it is difficult to get seat in top IITs for your GATE rank.

**You can try for some other Colleges apart from Top IITs, because previous year's cut-offs of top IITs were alomost below 700 Rank.

Will IITs, VITs ,BITs ,NITs accept a student if he has written a supplementary exam???? . Please tell me its very important ??.

Moumoyee Chakraborty 27th Apr, 2022

Hello Applicant!!

As per the admission into IITs, NITs or BITS is concerned it is governed by their entrance exam performance and to appear for the exam you need to have at least 50% aggregate. Hence even if you have some poor or bad record of performance then also you can use up your final performance in the entrance exam to score well. And unless you have uncleared backlogs, your performance or admission criteria will not be hampered in any Institution.

Hope it helps!!!

ayanmukherjee045 19th Mar, 2022

Dear aspirant,

As you have secured 22k in st category so let me tell you that it's very difficult to predict on the. Basis of category so kindly mention in the comment box your general rank so that I can guide you in an appropriate way.

Although various factors are considered while deciding the cut offs like number of candidates appearing in the examination, number of vacant seats in college, previous years cut offs and difficulty level of the paper.

my score is class 12 board exam is 74% but in Im in top 20 percentile in year 2022. can I take addmission in IITs or nits in year 2023 on the basis of top 20 percentile that I have score in 2022?????

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 15th Mar, 2022

Hi

You need either 75 % in 12th or in top 20 percentile of your board  examination .

Now,

The important thing to note down is that you need to be in top 20 percentile of your board  examination means if you have given 12th board in 2022 then you need to be top 20 percentile of your respective board  examination for the year 2022 even while taking admission in 2023 because you have given board examination 2022 and not that of 2023 .

So,

Yes, even in case 75% / top 20 percentile criteria returns in 2023 you will be eligible for NITs & IITs as you are in top 20 percentile of your 2022 board examination.

Admission in NITs, IIITs, CFTIs is through jee main & in  IITs through jee advanced

For your reference,

Eligibility criteria of both is given below:-

>>>>>>>>> JEE MAIN

Jee main eligibility criteria is given below-

can anyone take addmission in IITs or nits if his score in class 12 board exam is 80% but his marks in maths is 60 only????

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 14th Mar, 2022

Hi

Yes, with 80% marks in your class twelfth board examination you are definitely eligible for NITs and IITs  and it is it doesn't matter even if you  have only 60 marks i. e 60% in maths

This is because,

To check your eligibility for IIT and NITs your overall marks is considered for calculating percentage with 5 subjects i. e PCM, a language and any other subject. To be eligible for NITs, IITs, a general category student requires at least 75% in aggregate in 12th.There's no seperate minimum%  requirement in MATHS..

Moreover,

This year i. e 2022, minimum percentage barrier of 75% to be eligible for NITs  etc and IITs is not there

Admission in NITs, IIITs, CFTIs is through jee main & in  IITs through jee advanced

what special in NITs and IITs???

Ayush Maurya 14th Mar, 2022

Hello there

Both IIT and NIT are government engineering institutes where IIT stands for Indian Institute of Technology and NIT stand for National Institute of Technology .

NITs take admission through JEE main rank and IITs take admission through JEE advanced rank.

These are the government colleges and also here you will be finding highly qualified professors and researchers so this college is not made up for profit but to give quality education to the students  as compared to various private colleges which are for the profit purposes. Now into these colleges you will be finding various students who are very skilled and intelligent so here you will be finding more competition as compared to any other engineering colleges so because of that you can enhance your personality, your skills and can think differently and deeply into various prospects of your academics. That's why these are the reasons why students prefer these colleges as compared to the private ones and also these colleges  are very much less costly in comparison to other private colleges so that students of all financial categories can afford it.

I hope it helps you!

Good luck!

I have got GATE score of 362 and rank 6743 in EC in General category. can I get into old IITs or IISc or good NITs?

Moumoyee Chakraborty 22nd Apr, 2022

Hey Applicant

  • GATE is an online entrance test held by one of the seven Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) (Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati, Kharagpur, Madras, Roorkee, and Kanpur) and the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) in Bangalore. From the release of the GATE application form through the announcement of the results, there are numerous events that occur during this entrance exam. The authorities also reveal the qualifying cutoff along with the GATE result. Because disciplines such as Mechanical Engineering (ME) and Civil Engineering (CE) have the biggest number of applicants, these papers are divided into two sessions. The normalisation formula is used to calculate the students' grades in various subjects. On the other hand, the raw marks achieved by candidates who took all of the papers in a single session (other than ME, CS, EC, EE, and CE) are used in the GATE score computation formula. Candidates should be aware that their raw marks will be out of 100, whilst their GATE scores will be out of 1000. Now the cut off score depends on few main factors
  • The number of students appeared in the exam
  • the difficulty level of the exam
  • the vacancy seat matrix

Now as per the past few years data to get a seat in IITS, NITS you need more that 550+ score so with 362 marks it would be difficult for you to make it, use our GATE college predictor to predict your chances with this mark

which NITs Batter then IITs???

Sree Student Expert 9th Mar, 2022

Hello aspirant,

See some IITs are better than most of the NITs. So, there are many factors considered for comparison.

As per NIRF Ranking 2021 National Institute of Technology Tiruchirappalli and National Institute of Technology, Surathkal, Karnataka are ranked 9 th and 10 th respectively. There are 8 IITs which are ranked 1 to 8 and top of these two NITs.

IITs ranked after these two NITs are listed below.

--->>11 th Rank - Indian Institute of Technology , Dhanbad

--->>13 th Rank - Indian Institute of Technology, Indore

--->>14 th Rank - Indian Institute of Technology, Varanasi

--->>19th Rank - Indian Institute of Technology, Ropar, Rupnagar, Punjab etc

So, these two NITs are better than above mentioned IITs.

You can check for the same NIRF Rankings 2021, using below mentioned link.

Are IITs taught in Hindi ?????

Shivanshu 8th Mar, 2022

Dear aspirant !

Hope you are doing great ! No , they don't teach in hindi purely however hindi can be used by some teachers between the lectures ,but mainly hinglish is preferred by many of them ,means the combination of English and Hindi will be given importance ,in reality english is necessary there and you will also learn that there if you get selected . Don't worry about these little things ,focus on your preparation ,this is the last moment to show your potential .

Hope it helps you !!

Thanking you
