I am appearing in class 12th this year and i want to clear cse with a very good rank to become ias. My question is that whether i have to go for iit or not. if not the which stream i choose in graduation.

Khushi 25th Dec, 2019

Hi

You need to first have clarity in career choice. Doing CSE and being an IAS are two opposite choices which have no similarities. If you have interest in both then list out advantages and diasvantages of choosing a career which you wont e using in future.

In either cases ,if you want to be an ias then choose a course that will help you and make it easier for you while preparing for upsc.

Couses like

  • Economics hons
  • Political science hons
  • Sociology hons

These courses will help you in preparing beforhand for UPSC

If you want to do computer engineering then prepare for mains and advance right now. You may not know where you interest might divert in coming future.

But I wouldnt suggest you to go into engineering if at the end you want to give service to the nation.

Hope this helps

How many persentage I need in graduation to get a IIM call (Except ABC) as a non-enginear so that I get a call at 95%ile.

Yastika Kumar 31st Jan, 2020

Hi Soumyadip,

Almost everyone is aware the certain pros and cons each candidate face due to the graduation course they pursue. This is also considered while shortlisting candidates for WAT and PI. To maintain academic diversity the rating process is different for a bachelor's degree graduate and a professional degree graduate. Now what procedure they actually follows is with respect to the IIMs. Example IIM A have different rating score for the candidates of bachelor's degree and professional degree whereas IIM Kozikode provides Academic diversity score. But keep this in mind you need to score in graduation too get your call converted in any of the IIMs.

i got 65% in chemistry honours but 58% in graduation overall including subsidiary and honours paper...so my question is that am i elegible for government exam whose eligibility criteria is more than 60% in graduation...

Harshita Gupta 19th Dec, 2019
Hey,

If the eligibility criteria states that the minimum required score is 60%, then it means that the end result should be 60% or the aggregate score of all the semesters should be 60%.

So, if you have completed your graduation with 58%, then most probably you are not eligible . But still, relaxation of 5-10% is given to backward categories, so if you belong to ST/SC/OBC then, you may stand a chance.

Hope this helps!

ky m private college me direct admission le skti hu ..agr ha ..to ky waha bhi intrence pass krna padega

Aditya Saini 19th Dec, 2019

Hi drama queen ,

Ofcourse, well their entrance exam is just a formality this is not mandatory .

Direct admission is the process by which a student can gain entry to a college for a particular course. The student who gets entry into a college through this process has to pay a little more than a candidate who secured the admission through entrance tests or through examination scores.

Yes you can apply for admission, well in which course you want admission.

My tentative CAT percentile is 93.5-95.5 and I have done B.Com(Hons) .. female candidate general category..scored 7.8 cgpa in graduation and more that 90 percentage in cksss 12th and 10th examination.. which college is expected.

Loveena Gupta 17th Dec, 2019

Hy geeta

Looking at your scores, as you have excellent academics and percentile above 90's in Cat.

U can expect a call from IIM Indore, IIT Roorkee, IIT Madras. Also if cut offs may decline for this year than previous year then you may get a call from IIM B and IIM C because both of these IIMs weighs academics and Cat Percentile in almost equal ratios

IIM B - 40% Cat and Acads. 50%

IIM C - 56% Cat and acads. 40%

Other than IITs and IIMs you can expect the colleges like MDI, IMT Ghaziabad, IMI Delhi, XIMB, etc.

also, Du colleges such as DSE (Delhi School of economics) , DFS ( Department of Financial Studies), UBS Chandigarh ( University Business School).

Good luck
