Hello Dear,
In my view, both are the best. State PSC conducts exam for recruitment of Group A & B and being a Deputy Superintendent of Police is a group A post. Everybody knows the power of these posts.
The order of promotion as income tax Inspector-->income tax officer (gazetted grp B)--> Asstt Commissioner (equivalent to IRS)-->Dy. Commissioner--> Joint Commissioner-->Additional Commissioner-->Commissioner of income tax.
As compared to PSC, SSC CGL recruits only Group B and Group C posts. So you will not get any chance here for Group A post. By promotion you can become Group A. Income tax Inspector from SSC CGL is a group B post.
Good Luck
Hello candidate,
It's very unfair to just teo different and highly prestigious jobs on the basis of certain factors.
Let me tell you about these career opportunities, so that you can decide which suits you the best-
An income tax officer is responsible to collect the revenues and maintain the official record of all the taxes collected within his allotted area or region on a persistent basis.
A CBI officer on the other hand is responsible to tackle both financial deficits, also solve criminal cases as the highest investing agency in the country.
Hope it helps!!
Rahul, this thing is just unpredictable. As assessment wards are situated in both smaller and bigger cities. As per the rule, there should be one Income tax officer for each district. Districts are alloted with one income tax officer, two tax assistants, one inspector and other supporting staff. They are alloted on the basis of vacancies available in different districts. You can check out the list of income tax offices here:
