Will get admission for MBBS in government college of India with 210 marks in NEET. And what is the procedure for NEET MBBS counselling in other states of India.

gopi 5th Jun, 2025

Hello Anushka,

Even with 210 marks in NEET, it is very difficult to secure admission in a government medical college for general category students under the All India Quota (AIQ) or state quota, as usually cutoff scores are much higher than this (i.e., above 500+ for general). However, most seats are reserved for SC/ST/OBC or other reserved categories, rural quotas or North Eastern States, and depending on the state, you may have a small chance of admission to some states or to private colleges with a government fee structure on the basis of this score.

NEET MBBS Counselling Procedure in Other States:

  1. Register on the Medical Counselling Committee: MCC (https://mcc.nic.in/)

  2. Register on respective state counselling portals for state quota seats.

  3. Participate in choice filling and locking of colleges.

  4. Seat allotment is based on rank, category and seats available.

  5. If allotted, complete document verification and payment of fees.

I appeared for ail mohali exam 2025 and got 121 marks and 171 rank and Im all india general category. What are my chances for admission

Prachi Kumari 3rd Jun, 2025

Hello,

Based on previous years, general category candidates usually needed around 130 to 135 marks to get admission in AIL Mohali . With your 121 marks and rank 171, your chances are a bit low for the first rounds.

But you should still attend the counselling, because cut-offs change every year and you might get a chance in later rounds.

Hope it helps !

Prahvi Sharma 13th Jun, 2025

This rank is usually an All India Rank (AIR) unless specified as a state rank by the exam authority.

Usually, the rank mentioned is the All India Rank (AIR) unless the exam specifically says it’s a state rank.
