If your son is an Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) card holder, and has been studying in India since Class 6, he can take both the JEE Main and JEE Advanced. If he has completed his 10+2 education in India, he can also apply for admission for IITs. Based on current guidelines:
Recommendation: If your child does not qualify as a reserved category and is qualified to be an Indian citizen the General category is usually a good option. Just remember to look at the current JEEs brochure each year, since rules do change.

Hello Sunitha,
With 476 marks in NEET 2025 and EWS category in Andhra Pradesh, you have a good chance at government medical colleges, which usually have low fees ranging from Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 1,00,000 per year.
Key points:
Focus on Andhra Pradesh state quota government colleges for affordable MBBS seats.
EWS category may offer additional reservation and fee concessions.
Participate actively in state medical counseling for seat allotment.
Some private colleges may offer scholarships but are limited.
Keep updated on counseling rounds and cut-offs to secure a seat.
Check official state counseling websites for the latest information on seat availability and fees.

Hello there,
With a NEET score of 420 marks in 2025, your chances of getting admission in a government medical college under All India Quota (15%) or Uttar Pradesh State Quota (85%) are as follows:
All India Quota (AIQ): A score of 420 is generally below the typical cutoff for government MBBS seats under AIQ for general category, but if you belong to a reserved category (SC/ST/OBC/EWS), your chances improve.
Uttar Pradesh State Quota: UP usually has lower cutoffs compared to AIQ, especially for reserved categories. With 420 marks, there may be some possibility in reserved seats. For general category, chances are low but not impossible depending on overall competition and seat availability.
Hello Naveen,
With a JEE rank of 284,576 , getting admission in top government colleges for Mechanical Engineering will be very challenging due to the high competition and limited seats. However, there are good private and deemed universities where you can seek admission. Here are some options to consider:
Private Universities:
Amity University
Shoolini University
Manipal Academy of Higher Education
SRM Institute of Science and Technology
Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) (through VITEEE or management quota)
State Private or Deemed Universities:
Lovely Professional University
Chandigarh University
Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT)
Other Options: Some state-level engineering colleges and universities may offer seats through state counseling or management quota.
I would recommend you to use the JEE Mains College Predictor Tool by Careers360 to get the list of possible colleges you can get with your rank.
Dear Candidate , Unfortunately, the qualifying percentile for the SC category this year is around 61.15 , which means you did not clear the cutoff for JEE Advanced and are not eligible for admission into NITs , IIITs, or GFTIs through JoSAA counseling .
hello,
College, course and category all affected the NEET PG 2023 All India Quota (AIQ) cut-offs. In government medical colleges, the respected MD Radiodiagnosis and MS General Surgery courses had ranking positions in the top 1,000. In particular, certain government-run medical colleges stopped MS Surgery at any score above 150 in the AIR exam. Some colleges and reservation categories saw MD Emergency Medicine and MD Pathology ranking as low as AIR 6,000, while others had lower closing ranks, as high as AIR 20,000. All the leading institutions reported high competition for the clinical cut-offs.
