i got CEED rank 266(obc-ncl) can i get any IITs or any chances of getting IISC?

Rishu Gupta 28th Apr, 2020

Hi Uma Mahesh Reddy,

As per your rank 266 obc-ncl secured by you, you have very less chance to get a college.Cutoff for  Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology Delhi for OBC-NCL Category goes till rank 125.

IIT Hyderabad cutoff goes from 30-37 for obc category last year. IIIT Jabalpur cutoff goes till rank 54 last year. So, there will be no chance of getting these colleges.

IS it compulsory to give KVPY SX exam in PCM format to study physics in IISC or giving it in PCB format will also provide the above mentioned chance? Iam a PCMB student, sir.

Manidipa Kundu Student Expert 26th Apr, 2020

hi,

no there is no restriction to choose pcb or pcm, In questions of SB and SX , there will be four sections in Part I (Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics) and four sections in Part II (Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics).  Candidates  may answer any THREE of the four subjects in Part I and any TWO of the four subjects in Part II. In case candidate attempts  more sections, best of three in Part I and best of two in Part II is considered.

as of now jee main exam is now reduced to 300 marks from 360 in january 2020. but now at what marks limit is set by iisc banglore to not take interview for ug programs for an sc male student ?

MD Neshat Faizy 23rd Apr, 2020
Hello Aspirant, JEE Mains marka has been reduced from 360 to 300 this year, but you need to know that Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore takes admission on JEE Mains rank not on JEE Mains marks, as last year total of 16 paper are taken by NTA as marks is not provided to the candidate as it can vary depending upon the level of paper, percentile was given, so IISC Bangalore takes admission on the basis of rank,

Last year closing Cutoff rank for ST Category in IISC Bangalore was 40 thousand through JEE Mains, so you need to get less than 40 thousand rank in JEE Main to get in IISC Bangalore, corresponds to which percentile will be around 96-97 and marks will be 120 to 150 depending upon the level of paper.

to be on safe side , what minimum jee main percentile is required for an sc male student to enter in iisc banglore without interview?

Sonali Sahu Student Expert 23rd Apr, 2020

Hello,

IISC doesn't provide BE/BTech degree. JEE Main is an entrance exam which makes candidates to be eligible for engineering course which is given by government college, university, IIT/NIT/IIIT/CFIT and private institutes.

for engineering, IIT is the best and top college. if you want to join then you have to get a percentile above 90% for general category. for categorical reservation, what percentile will be considered is decided by the NTA board.

Hope it helps!
