can I go to IIT after 12th with commerce

ishratsadaf8 9th Feb, 2024

Dear Aspirant!

No, typically, you cannot directly go to IIT (Indian Institutes of Technology) after 12th with a commerce background. IITs mainly admit students through the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE), which is focused on science subjects like Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Commerce students are generally not eligible for the JEE.

However, if you have a strong interest in technology, you can take an alternative route. You may pursue a Bachelor's in Engineering or Technology through other colleges and universities that accept commerce students. After completing this degree, you can consider pursuing a Master's or specialized courses from IITs or other reputed institutions for higher studies in technology-related fields.

It's essential to research and choose a suitable educational path that aligns with your interests and career goals, considering the eligibility criteria of the specific institutions or courses you're interested in.
