why should all Jee advanced toppers choose IIT Bombay to learn CSE . Why dont they will not take IIT Madras ? IIT Madras is in 1 NRIF ranking but why should they are joining in Bombay ?

Arihant kapoor 5th Nov, 2020

Hello Aspirant

IIT Madras is ranked 1 in NIRF ranking, but all toppers of JEE Advanced goes to IIT Bombay for CSE. This is because of various factors:

  • IIT Bombay is situated in the Economical capital of India making it a perfect place for companies for work. Also, students get the exposure of real life world, which is somewhat missing in IIT Madras.
  • Top Companies like Google, Microsoft, Amazon coming to IITB is also one of the reasons.
  • Also, new technology is introduced in IITB, for example in the tech fest of IITB the World's first humanoid Sofia is displayed.
  • Also, NIRF ranking doesn't depend upon locality of college, but students while taking admissions prefer locality of the college.

Hope this helps and all the best.

Hope you are doing good.

Preparatory course is an amazing way to prepare category students for the upcoming academic course. The only requirement of of levelling up from preparator re course to actual course is that you need to complete the the preparatory course and pass it.

if you have passed the proprietary course your seat which was reserved for you would be provided to you. So you have high chances that you would get naval architecture at IIT Madras.

If you have any more doubts you can ask them in the comment section.

Is iit madras civil engineering or Andhra University cse best?? Please give me a clarity

Abhishek Roy 3rd Nov, 2020

I think you should go for Civil at IIT Madras. Even if you are interested in CSE, you will get a lot of options to pursue your interest at IITM. Being an Old IIT it provides you with a sea of opportunities. You can even study well in the first year and apply for a Branch Change to CSE or EE. Besides this IITM also has a provision for pursuing a Minor degree in some other Department besides majoring for your case in Civil Engineering. You should start developing new skills and mastering Technologies like ML, AI, Software and Data Science right from your First or perhaps Second year besides keeping up with Coursework in Civil and henceforth you can easily secure a Placement in a Top Software or Financial Technology Company like Microsoft, Nomura, Accenture Japan, Sony, P&G, Oracle, JPMC and so on.

L-T-P meaning in preparatory course in IIT Madras??

Shreya sharma 30th Oct, 2020

Hello Abhik,

In any course of any college, the syllabus is depicted along with a small table of L-T-P, Which are the structures and credits associated with each subject in the course. L refers to lectures per week, T refers to the number of tutorial lectures per week and P refers to the number of Practical lectures per week which are to be devoted to the subjects of the course curriculum. So, I think this is the information you needed. iit madras also follows the same.

Thankyou.

Do we need to pay 36500 RS to participate in CSAB rounds or the fee is only when i get and accept the seat

ARYAN SAGAR 25th Oct, 2020
Dear student,

If you do not go any seat in josaa all rounds counseling, then there will be a one option to once again compete for the vacant seats in nits or iiits or gftis and that is - CSAB.

Now, if you didn't got alloted any seat or your seat is cancelled or you have taken the seat and retaining it, then you can participate in csab counseling.

Now for participating in csab round counselling, you have to pay a participation fees of Rs. 36500 (for general and obc candidates ot is 36500 and for sc / st it is rs.16500).

Now if you got allotted any seat during csab round counseling for first time ( means you have not got any seat in josaa), then again you have to pay the seat acceptance fees of Rs. 35000 ( for general / obc).
But if you have got any seat in josaa counselling and you have retained it, then after accepting the seat in csab round you don't have to pay the seat acceptance fees, because it's already paid once.

If you want to take up cse then go for other college.

i got iit madras civil in mock seat allocation round 2 but now in round 1 im getting Guwahati. probability that i will get iit madras ?

Abhishek Roy 17th Oct, 2020

Yes, do accept and float the present seat at IIT Guwahati in Josaa. There are many changes in preference order of students after the Second Mock round, hence the allotment at IITG. Most probably by Round 3 or 4, you should get Civil IIT Madras, so be prepared.

All the Best.
