Hi Katravath,
I can provide you 2016, 2017 and 2018 cutoff ranks of IIT Madras (Chemical Branch) for ST category candidates, you can get a clear idea.
In 2016, after the last round-
Closing Rank- 442
In 2017, after the last round-
Closing Rank- 386
In 2018, after the last round-
Closing Rank- 609
Therefore, you need an ST rank around 600-700 to stand any chance of getting Chemical Branch.
Hope this helps you.
All the best!!!
I see that you are saying 6417 rank in general category . This rank I won't say that it is good. But it is also not bad.
And you want to get into IIT Madras regardless of which branch you get. Now if see previous year closing rank for different branch. You will get naval architecture and ocean engineering also dual BTech Mtech metallurgical branch.
So you better see which branch you want to go in.
Thank you.
Hello Ria,
If you got IITM in first round and want VIPS you should not freeze your seat after 1st round. Chances of getting VIPS totally depends upon your rank and cut-off. And chances of getting back IITM depends upon your preference list. If you want IITM back then there should be only VIPS above the IITM in preference list. If there is any other college above IITM and it's cut-off rank is more that your rank you will get a seat in that college but not in IITM back
Hope this helps!
Hello Venkat, Well, It depends on your interest. If you are interested in aerospace engineering, then you should take the dual degree course, and if you are interested in coding and programming, then you should go for CSE course in NIT Surathkal. There are very limited job opportunities for aerospace engineers in India. You might need to go abroad after the course for better job opportunities. But CSE engineers are very much in demand.
Hello applicant! All the fields seem to have a good scope. But, what to prefer depends upon your interest. The course that interests you the most will be apt for you. After all, it will be you who will be studying so, your interest is the primary thing to choose the course wisely. All The Best!
