There are two ways of joining Indian Navy after 12th
1. NDA & NA Examination : You can join NA by taking the exam conducted by Union Public Service Commission ( UPSC ). This exam is conducted twice a year in all major cities throughout India.
Eligibility Criteria
Age – 16 ½ to 19 years(at the time of commencement of course)
Nationality – Indian
Gender – Men only
Educational Qualifications – 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics. Appearing final year students can also eligible to apply.
Advertisement Schedule – May and December. (Advertisement is released by UPSC. Visit www.upsc.gov.in )
The second way to join In Indian navy is
2. 10+2 B.tech Cadet Entry:
Age: 17 to 19½ years .
Educational Qualification: Passed Senior Secondary Examination (10+2 Pattern) or its equivalent from University/Board with at least 70 % aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) and at least 50% marks in English (either in Class X or Class XII).
How to apply : One can directly apply online from nausena – bharti .nic.in , selection for SSB Interview based on the cut off percentage decided by Indian Navy.

Physical Fitness- Not suffering from the following disease- Hydrocele / Phimosis, Under Sized Chest, Wax (Ears), Deviated Nasal Septum, Overweight /Underweight, Piles, Tonsillitis, Gynaecomastia, Varicocele
Education Qualification- 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics.
Another way -
10+2 B.tech Cadet Entry: The examination is followed by intelligence and personality test by the SSB. You can directly apply online from nausena–bharti.nic.in. Selection for SSB Interview is based on the cut off percentage decided by Indian Navy.

Indian Naval Academy is a training establishment based in Ezhimala, Kerala. This institue being the largest naval Academy in Asia, provides initial officer training to naval cadets admitted through UPSC entry NDA (NA) exam and 10+2 BTech entry. The period of initial training is of 4 years. Upon graduation the cadets are given Bachelor Of Technology (BTech.) degree. Also, cadets of Short Service Commission (SSC) entry are given training here and training period for direct entry is of 22 weeks.
On the other hand, Indian Navy is the naval branch of Indian Armed Forces.The primary objective of Navy is to protect the nation's maritime border. In recent years, the navy has been invloved in numerous humanitarian mission and disaster relief. With 79,000+ service personnel Indian Navy is the fifth largest Navy of the world.

Candidates who join in Indian Naval Academy through NDA will be given B.Tech Degree in the following branches
Candidates who successfully complete the B. Tech will be awarded B. Tech Degree by Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU). You cannot choose B.Tech Computer Science if you get in to Indian Navy through NDA. You will have to choose any one of the above mentioned courses.
You will have to go through a number of stages and based on your performance you will achieve the posts. So which will be better for you , I don't know but the aspiration to work for your motherland , to protect her , is all that matters.

The Indian Navy SSR form will start from November 2020, the officially dates is not announced yet. And the examination will going to be held on December, 2020. Check the officially site regularly for latest updates for the examination related queries.

It will be based on your performance. IMU doesn't guarantee you with that but it will help you with having plenty of chances to get on board a ship. If you are going to do well in your semester examinations and other events, then I will make sure that you have a great opportunity to get into a good business.

Your selection will totally depend on your physical tests that they put you through once you clear the examination. So, there's no way to tell what are the chances. Ofcourse, practice for it, do your research and maybe join some coaching to prepare you for it as well.
