Well it is a bit tough question if u are asking on the basis of a good job as both these fields are having a cast no of applications and great job base.
Since u r from mechanical so u are having a brief knowledge about both these fields too and also about ur inclination towards different subjects in ur btech course.
So totally depends upon ur interest and skill which stream u should be opting as both of these two are well established and are having a huge network of jobs in the career sector.

Hi Srikanth, I& is one of the fastest growing field in India. Many of the companies are their that currently offering jobs in that field. Plant engineer, quality engineer, process engineer, industrial manager , these are some job positions that are offered by the various companies. Salary starts form 15000-20000.
I think you have completed your BE . If you don't have any finiancial problem then you can continue you education.So you can also go for the MTech and BTech. Because for higher qualification higher packages are their.

Production is a good line of study which offers lucrative placements in the manufacturing and industrial engineering sector.
However, a master's degree always helps, be it from your field or something like MBA. If you want an academic job, you will also need to have Ph.D. The choice is yours.

I would like to tell you though there are not much of opportunities for industrial and production engineers in government jobs.But still i suggest you to give it a try. Fill up forms and give the exams once. You can do a coaching and go for maybe income tax.

See, INDUSTRIAL and PRODUCTION ENGINEERING is an Allied branch of MECHANICAL Engineering and it really has good scope once an Individual gets Industry Experience in this branch.
In Campus placements, you may or may not get very good package but trust me, once you have a experience of about 4-5 in this feils, you can really earn very good.
