basic interview based questions and their answers on bsc psychology course asap?

Khushi Goyal 23rd Aug, 2021

Dear Student,

Some basic interview based questions that interviewer will definitely ask you at first :-

  • Tell me about yourself - This is a very common question being asked in any interview. And you have to prepare a strong answer for this, which would instantly interest the interviewer. Try putting less adjectives and more details about yourself. The best answer would focus on why you are a great fit for this role. Choose a life story that leads directly to this job. For example, You can say, "I studied psychology with the idea that I would be a therapist. But an engaging experiment in my marketing psychology class changed that. That experience showed me that I want to do marketing research."
  • What interests you about psychology ? - This question gives you the opportunity to demonstrate your enthusiasm for your specific field of study. Tell a story that shows your passion for the subject. For example, "When I was 13, my older brother was diagnosed with schizophrenia. My mother was overwhelmed, and I had no one to talk to. I look forward to working in social services to help families like mine." Your story doesn't have to be as dramatic as this one, but try to give a compelling reason for your trajectory.
  • What was your focus of study ? - If you focused on forensic psychology, but this is a job in career counseling, explain why you are a fit. Did you learn something in an internship that applies well here? Does your ability to be investigative and focus on the details demonstrate relevant skills for the position? Translate your previous experiences and classwork to this role. You've thought about transferable skills already for your cover letter and other application materials, so remember that anecdote if you're struggling in the moment.
  • What would your strengths and weaknesses be as an employee? - If you are applying for a job in public relations, you might say, "I'm an excellent writer. I wrote for the school paper and have published a few short stories." Or, "I'm very social. I have a large social circle and stay in touch with a vast number of people through social media." For weaknesses, reflect on situations where you made a mistake but then fixed it and choose the most relevant; that will allow you to tell a strong anecdote in the interview.
  • What are your salary requirements? - For this, you can visit different sites and check the pay range for the post you are applying.

    Other questions may include :-
  • Where do you see yourself in five years?
  • Do you have any questions for me?
  • Describe your communication style.
  • Tell about a time you resolved a conflict.

if by chance we pass in the preliminary and mains but we fail in the interview so does we have any job facilities under collector post.

shreyakhedkar05 18th Aug, 2021

Hello,

The final marks are the combination of interview and mains marks. So there is nothing like falling in UPSC interviews. UPSC has a certain cutoff for this total result.

In case if you fail(which will be a very disheartening thing) you'll have to go back and gather enough courage to start from stage 1 which is the preliminary stage. Try to score well in mains so that even if your interview doesn't go as expected your mains marks will balance out those.

In the post about you are talking about there are other exams for those that don't count in the UPSC examination.

Hope this will help, All the best!!

Dear Student,

Particularly for UPSC, your final score is the combination of interview and mains scores which includes all the GS and optional papers. So there is nothing like failing or passing in UPSC interviews. UPSC decides a specific cutoff for the final result.

But, if you are not able to pass in the total result, you'll have to go back to stage 1 which is the preliminary stage with great dedication. So, try to score well in mains so that even if your interview doesn't go as per your expectations, your mains marks will balance out that.

may i speak upsc interview in kannada

Ananya Krishnan 15th Aug, 2021

Hello,

Yes you can give the UPSC interview in Kannada. Kannada is included in the 8th schedule of the Indian constitution. Therefore, this language is allowed for the UPSC interview. You can exercise the medium of Personality Test while filling your DAF. But it won't be of any additional advantage unless you are too weak to speak in English.
