Your IPU CET rank 587 for BJMC is great. This rank is sufficient to get admission in Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies,  Rohini for Bachelor of Journalism and Mass Communications 

But there is a tough chance for you to get this college in 1st shift according to last year's cutoff

for delhi general students with the rank of 963 can get the following colleges

1 JIMS vasant kunj

2 MAIMS, Rohini

3 Trinity, dwarka 

Maybe you could get VIPS, pitampura at the sliding round so wait till the end.

                Congratulations on your rank.2019 IPU CET cutoffs are not yet released. previous years IPU CET Cutoff for BJMC is as follows

Based on this if you belong to a general category then it is quite difficult to get a seat but remember cutoff changes every year so don't lose hope.
