Is 75% number in board exam ( 10+ 2 ) compulsory for jee main 2022??

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 13th Mar, 2022

Hi

First of all there is no minimum percentage barrier to be eligible for JEE main . 75% requirement in class 12th for general category is only admission in nits etc but even this minimum percentage requirement is not there this year.

For your reference,

Jee main eligibility criteria is given below-

---------------------------) Qualification required :- to be eligible  for JEE mains you need 10+2/equivalent qualification from a recognised board.

Course

Required Criteria based on Class 12th  or equivalent

B.E/B.Tech

Passed qualifying examination with Physics and   Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with any one of :-

----)Chemistry

-----)Biotechnology

-----)Biology

----) Technical Vocational subject.

B.Arch

Passed qualifying examination with

-----)Mathematics,

-----)Physics,

------) Chemistry

To be eligible for B. Arch , you have at least 50% in aggregate of Physics, chemistry and Maths and also 50 % in overall in 12th/equivalent

B.Planning

Passed qualifying examination with Mathematics

You must have at least 50% marks in Maths in 12th and also 50% in 12th /equivalent overall.

-------------------------) Passing year :- one is eligible for JEE main examination for consecutive three years starting from the year of appearing for 12th /equivalent examination i. e to be eligible  for JEE mains 2022 you should be either appearing for 12th board exam or equivalent  in 2022 or should have passed it in 2021 or 2020

-------------------------) There is no age limit to be eligible

-------------------------) there is no minimum percentage requirement to be eligible for JEE Main for BE /Btech.

But yes,

To be eligible for BE/BTech  in NITs, IIITs, CFTIs one needs at least 75% marks in class 12th if belongs to General or OBC category  or at least 65% marks in class 12th if belongs to Sc or St category or needs to be in top 20 percentile of their board examination.

IMPORTANT NOTE :-  This minimum percentage barrier of 75 % - 65% for NITs, IIITs, CFTIs  has been lifted off for jee main 2022 . It means to be eligible all you need to be eligible is to have at least passed 12th .

what is the minimum marks I score in jee main 2022 so that any decent branch (like electrical, machenical, civil etc ) In any decent Nits get. my category = GEN-EWS

ayanmukherjee045 12th Mar, 2022

Dear aspirant,

As far as my knowledge and prediction is concerned let me tell you that for decent nits like Jamshedpur, durgapur, Silchar, allahabad, rourkela, Calicut and also lower nits like mizoram, meghalaya, arunachal pradesh, you need a minimum percentile of 96 for decent nits and 94 in lower nits to get the core branches.

However various factors are considered while deciding the cut offs like number of candidates appearing in the examination, number of vacant seats in college, previous years cut offs and difficulty level of the paper.

if we have submitted the old obc certificate in first jee main 2022 session instead of declaration form ,can we submit the valid and fresh one in 2nd session jee???

Piyush 10th Mar, 2022

Hello aspirant,

I hope that you are doing absolutely great.

With reference to your above mentioned query, i would like to tell you that if yo have submitted your OBC Certificate that was issued before 1st April 2022, then that certificate will be considered as invalid. This time you cannot make the corrections in your JEE application form also.

So, in that case you need to apply for fresh and valid OBC Certificate in your second session of JEE mains , i.e, in MAY session. Wihile filling teh new registration form for MAY Session in JEE mains 2022, you can upload your fresh and new valid OBC Certificate that will be accepted by the authority and that certificate must have been issued on or after 1st April, 2022.

Further. The important dates that you need to consider while filling teh Application for of JEE mains for MAY Session :

application form release date :- 8th April 2022

Application form last date :- 3rd May 2022 upto 5 pm

May session examination date:- From 24th to 29th May 2022

Further, to know more about the JEE mains 2022 exam, you can follow the below mentioned link to know more : https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/jee-main-2022

I hope that this will help.

Does the student appearing for JEE main 2022 get any benefits in admission if his / her parents working in abroad

Parneet 6th Mar, 2022

Hello

Hope you are doing well

No, not really. But if you are an NRI you definitely get some or the other benifits if you apply from the nri category. However there are a lot of private colleges that offer benefits for admission if the parents of the child are working in abroad.

while applying for jee main 2022, i aploded my cast certificate from state government , will i get any issue at counselling ?

ayanmukherjee045 6th Mar, 2022

Dear aspirant,

As you have mentioned you have uploaded your cast certificate from state government so let me tell you that you need not worry about this thing .

Just keep in mind one thing that it should be as per the format that is mentioned in the brochure. Atleast the main body of the format should be same.

If you are clearing this criteria then you won't be having any difficulty in verification.
