I have completed my 12th in 2017 and after 3 year diploma in 2020. am I eligible for jee main exam?

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 1st Dec, 2020

Hi

Eligibility criteria says that to be eligible  for JEE mains 2021 for BE or Btech you just must be either appearing for 12th board exam or equivalent  in 2021 or should have passed it in 2020 or 2019 with Physics,  mathematics and anyone of Chemistry or Biology or Biotechnology or Technical Vocational Subject

So, as per your 12th qualification you are not eligible for jee mains anymore as you have passed it in the year 2017 according to which you were eligible for JEE mains only till 2019.

But yes,

3 year diploma is equivalent to 10+2 , and as per eligibility criteria of jee mains, students with Diploma recognised by AICTE or recognised by a State board of technical education of at least 3 year duration are eligible for jee mains examination.

so, now that you have completed your 3 year diploma in 2020, yes you were eligible for JEE Mains 2020, and yes you are also eligible for JEE mains 2021 and 2022 with your diploma qualification.

my father name in 10th marks sheet is Sharath Tamme (As per pass port we changed to birth certificate) but in Aadhar T. Sharath its acceptable in CET and jee main exam application form please sugges

Anurag Khanna 4th Jan, 2021

Hello Farhan,

If your father's name is different from the marksheets of class 10th or 12th then there is need to worry but that's the case where either the name is mis-spelt or the name is completely wrong but in your case there is full name on the marksheet but on AADHAR card it is in short form so there is no need to worry and you have to mention the name of your father as the complete name and at the time of admission this is understandable because sometimes in some ID Proofs due to shortage of spaces/margins the name is written as it's short form so this will not create you any problem. This is applicable for both applications either it is of JEE-Main or for CET of any other state.

On December 16th 2020 the application process for JEE-Main 2021 February attempt has been started by National Testing Agency (NTA) which is the conducting authority for JEE-Main 2021. You can apply for JEE-Main from the official portal of JEE-Main which is given below :-

https://jeemain.nta.nic.in/webinfo2021/Page/Page?PageId=1&LangId=P

Note that this application process will continues till January 16th 2021 and last date for payment of application fee is January 17th 2021 after which neither application nor application fee will be accepted and then after the correction window will be opened for the applicants from January 19th to January 21st 2021. Admit cards will be available for download from second week of February 2021 and the examination will be conducted from February 23rd to February 26th 2021 in two shifts per day, for February attempt.

A candidate will also have option to apply for one Session or more than one Session (February/ March /April /May 2021) together and pay exam fee accordingly. In other words, if a candidate wishes to apply only for one Session, he / she has to pay Examination Fee only for that Session during the current application period and will have opportunity to apply again for the March/ April / May Sessions.
