how many marks should I get above 95 percentile in JEE MAIN Exam

Hi aspirant,

JEE Main is the gateway to NITs and other colleges accepting it. In order to be eligible to write JEE advanced a candidate has to qualify JEE Main first. It is conducted by NTA from last year. From last year percentile based system came into effect.

In order to get 95 percentile in JEE Main you have to score around 95 to 105. This is based on last year data and may change this year because the examination pattern has been change now.

I had 51% in 12th class can I eligible for Jee main exam ??

Aditi amrendra Student Expert 31st Jul, 2020
Hello,

Yes, you are completely eligible for appearing in JEE mains examination and you are eligible for admission in NITs,IIITs, and GFTIs.
Earlier a candidate was required to score 75% marks in boards for admission in NITs,IIITs, and GFTIs but due to covid-19 pandemic effects on boards, the eligibility has been removed. So, you will able to get admission through JEE mains in any college based on your percentile.

I hope this helps.

Hello,

Not its not..Although many universities are taking admission based on class 12th board percentage and JEE mains percentile so for that you can register if you are interested for admission in those universities. But if you want to get admissions in colleges that offer admission through JEE then you will have to wait for the exam to take place.

I hope thjs helps.

If My Daughter scores 195 in Sep 2020 JEE Main Exam, would she be in a position to get admission to CS or ECE - NIT Trichy (TN State / OBC / Female)

vishesh kumar 7th Sep, 2020

Hi,

I would like to inform you that yes, there are chances to get NIT Trichy with the TN state quota with OBC category. It is suggested that you put it on the top in preference while filling the counselling form. Also it is suggested that you go for further rounds of counselling without actually freezing the seat in any other institutes. All the best.

HELLO, I got 74.02 percentile in jee main exam conducted at January 2020 if I am eligible for doing jee advanced exam .. what your thought........

Vaishak V Prabhu 27th Jul, 2020

According to VidyaMandir experts, candidates can analyse their NTA scores and calculate their approximate JEE Main rank through their percentile scores. Here’s how.

So, the total number of candidates who appeared for the JEE Main 2019 January exam was around 8.74 lakhs. The exam was conducted on four days in two slots (4 days x 2 slots = 8 sessions in total). So, approximately 1.09 lakh students took the exam in each session. Note that the JEE Main 2019 results/scorecard mentions only the NTA score for each subject and not the subject-wise marks secured by candidates. The percentile score displayed against each of the subjects and the overall percentile score is calculated up to 7 decimals using a pre-determined formula.

Candidates who fall among the top 2,50,000 rankers in JEE Main 2020 across all categories are eligible to appear for JEE Advanced. Out of this number, the percentage of candidates eligible for admissions under different categories are as follows:

  • General category candidates (from the common merit list) – 46.5%
  • General EWS – 4%
  • OBC-NCL candidates – 27%
  • SC candidates – 15%
  • ST candidates – 7.5%
  • PWD candidates - Horizontal reservation of 5% in all the above categories

Sir i passed 12th in pcm with 49.67% marks in 2018-19 .can i do jee main exam.

NILUTPOL Student Expert 27th Jul, 2020
    Hello,
As you have appeared for your class 12 boards in the year 2018-19, you can appear for JEE Mains 2021. But you wont be able to appear for JEE Advanced 2021. Also, even if you qualify for JEE Mains, you won't be able to get admission I to NITs IIITs and GFTIs as you must have secured 75% (65% for ST/SC/OBC) minimum in your class 12 boards. As you have less than that, so you won't be able the get admission.

You will only be able to get admission into some private engineering colleges which consider JEE mains score for admission.

    Hope it helps
