I did not qualify in NEET can I study in abroad by writing IELTS or SAT exams?

Ishita Roy 6th Jun, 2019

Hello Kirti,

You do not have to be disheartened if you were unable to qualify for NEET. You can surely study and prepare well for SAT and IELTS in order to study abroad.

Make sure you go through the college's prospectus as some colleges do not need SAT unless they are US-Based and some countries value TOEFL more than IELTs. By and large, both the exams have a similar pattern, except that IELTS uses less technology in terms of oral part of the test.

SAT comes with the general competitive pattern, with extensive maths and English comprehension.

Make sure you do your research well.

All the best!

My daughter scored 1330 in SAT exam. Is it likely that she can get admission in US or Canada?

chandresh iyer 22nd Jul, 2024

A SAT score of 1330 is a solid result and opens up many opportunities for admission to universities in the US and Canada. While top-tier universities such as Ivy League schools and other highly selective institutions may have higher average scores, many reputable colleges and universities in both countries have a broad range of accepted SAT scores and look at a holistic picture, including extracurricular activities, personal essays, and letters of recommendation. In Canada, admissions criteria can vary significantly by province and institution, but a 1330 SAT score is competitive for many well-regarded universities. It's important to research specific universities' admissions requirements and to ensure that other aspects of the application are strong to maximize the chances of acceptance.

WHat is best way and study material to prepare for SAT?

Abhishek Ranjan Student Expert 25th May, 2019

Hi Sandeep,

Many plans online, such as khanacademy and prepscholar, are completely wastes of time. There is no reason to pay for a tutor, and you should never do so.

Buy these two books:

SAT Elite 1600, 2nd Edition

The Official SAT Study Guide, 2016 Edition

These two books, if used correctly, will easily let you replicate my successes. Follow these steps:

  1. Pass Algebra and English II with a C or above. This will provide a solid basis for knowledge. (You will need to know trig functions, so if you have taken trig, use it to your advantage.)
  2. Buy the books
  3. Take one practice test. I can’t stress how imperative this is. There is no point in studying the whole book if you already know 60 percent of the material.
  4. Use the Official first, and after absorbing all the information you can, take another practice test. Your score should improve moderately.
  5. Switch to the Elite. This will help fine-tune your skills, and I would advise reading the entirety of it. It is much shorter than the official, and has helpful tips to success.
  6. Halfway through this book, take another test. Hopefully, your score will improve.
  7. After finishing the book, skim through the information again, and take your final test. Hopefully, this reaches your goal.

How can I get admission for cs engineering(UG) in Germany without giving SAT? Please tell me the admission procedure!

Manidipa Kundu Student Expert 24th May, 2019
hello,

Germany is a country where most of the public speaking
language is German!

As you are an international student, a basic understanding
of language is always prefer.

There are standardized tests  like (TestDAF) as well as university level
(DSH) exams available for you and you may take any one of the two once you
understand which suits you better.

Also, if you are applying for English taught course in
Germany, you would be required to show proficiency in the language and an
IELTS/ TOEFL score is usually acceptable. I suggest you to go through the
official websites of university and strictly follow their requirements.
