The SAT test is held seven times a year in the US and six times internationally. It is held in the months of October, November, December, January, March, May and June. The Eligibility criteria for SAT 2017 include-
1) Candidates can take the SAT test if they are applying to an undergraduate programme at a university.
2) If candidates are applying for financial aid and the university requires it as an application process.
3) Students can take the SAT irrespective of your age, generally it is taken by students who are 17 or 18 years of age.
As per the SAT 2017 test pattern, a total of 154 questions is asked in the SAT 2017 including 1 essay question. The exam is basically objective and the total duration of the test is 3 hours. There will be four sections- Evidence-Based Reading and Writing, Reading Test, Writing and Language Test and Math and the Essay is optional. The candidates will be given another 50 minutes for the Essay, which is optional.
Yes, the exam will be scored on a total of 1600 while the Evidence-Based Reading/Writing and Math sections will each be scored on a 200 to 800 point scale. Also, there is no negative marking in SAT.
