Bsc agriculture vs Bsc maths which is the best option for our career in terms of govt jobs, futurescope etc.

pri111nah 13th Apr, 2022

Hi,

Both having own value and different career path. If you want to do research than you may consider agriculture otherwise you can opt Math Hons and afterwards you may pursue data analysis or MBA finance or Actuarial science or development studies and start your career with handsome salary.

Both are great career options and have good career options . If we talk about B. Sc in agriculture then Lots of Government as well as Private job opportunities are present in front of Graduates. Talking about Government jobs, State Agriculture Departments recruits Graduates to fill up Officer level posts. Government Banks also recruits Graduates to fill up Officer level posts (generally dealing with Loans). Talking about Private Sector jobs, graduates may find jobs as Managers at Plantations, as Officers at Fertilizer Manufacturing firms, Agriculture Machinery Industries, Agricultural Products Marketing firms, Food processing units etc. Average starting salary is generally between 2-4.5 Lakh Rupees per year.

After pursuing a simple B. Sc Maths course, students can become teachers, technical writers or research analysts. But it is advisable that they first pursue M. Sc degree and then head-out to secure a job . In order to get an edge over their competitors, candidates can opt to pursue more specialized B. Sc courses, which would make them more employable right after completing their B. Sc degree.

Job Profiles after BSc Maths are :-

  • Scientist
  • Scientific Assistant
  • Research analyst
  • Teachers
  • Technical Writer/Editor
  • Lecturers
  • Enumerators
  • Researcher
  • Consultant

Employment Areas for B.Sc  Agriculture graduates :-

  • Educational Institutes
  • Space Research Institutes
  • Health Care Providers
  • Pharmaceuticals and Biotechnology Industry
  • Chemical Industry
  • Environmental Management and Conservation
  • Forensic Crime Research
  • Research Firms
  • Testing Laboratories
  • Geological Survey Departments
  • Wastewater Plants

After completing veterinary doctor course then I will get Government jobs immediately or not

pri111nah 10th Apr, 2022

Hi,

No. You have to face exams and interviews if the state or centre has vacancies for Vets. I have seen many Vets trying to get Govt jobs but didn't get selected. Nevertheless, they are well of in private sector.

Every Government Posting comes out when a significant number of vacancies come into existence. In the field of Veterinary Medicine also, when the State Govt perceives a comparatively higher number of vacancies, it declares them and the recruitment is done through a competitive exam conducted by State Public Service Commission.

So, the fact is, if you are lucky enough, the Govt will declare vacancies in the same year as you complete your BVSc & AH degree and if you clear the Exam, you get a Govt job as a Veterinary Surgeon which makes you a Class II State Govt employee. On the other hand, Veterinarians have had to wait for as long as 4 years to take a shot as the vacancies were not declared during that period. So, you might have to wait.

Hope this helps.

Good luck.

what are the gov jobs if I take BA Chinese???

piyush singh 9th Apr, 2022

Hello!

As per your query I would like to inform you that there are minimum chances of getting a government job if you go for Bachelors of Arts in Chinese. No doubt you can get a govt job as a translator but for that you must have a good reference who can get you a job and at least a M.Phil. or a PhD degree in Chinese.

Unlike other bachelors degree you are eligible for many govt exams like SSC, banking, UPSC etc. if you are interested in any of these fields you can definitely give it a try.

Hope it helps
