Joint Entrance Examination (Main)
If you’ve appeared for JEE Main, you can apply to NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs through JoSAA counselling. These include top government colleges across India, and seat allotment is based on your rank, category, and preferences. Some state universities like DTU, NSUT, and IIIT Delhi accept JEE Main ranks through JAC Delhi counselling. BIT Mesra also admits students based on JEE Main via its own process. For JEE Advanced rank holders, admission to IITs is done through JoSAA based on Advanced rank only.
CMR Institute of Technology (CMRIT) in Bangalore is a well-known college, especially for courses like Computer Science (CSE) and Information Science (ISE). Students say the teachers are helpful, and the campus has good labs, sports facilities, and a clean environment. The college conducts many workshops and training programs to help students get ready for jobs.
Most students from CSE and ISE branches get placed in companies like TCS, Wipro, Deloitte, and Sony. Placement training is good, and the college provides mock interviews and soft skill classes. Some students from branches like ECE feel that placements are not as strong for them, but those with good skills still get jobs.
There are many student clubs and events like cultural fests and coding competitions. The college is strict with attendance, and classes run from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Some students feel the rules are a bit tight, but others believe it helps in maintaining discipline.
In short, CMRIT is a good choice if you are looking for a college with strong academics, placement support, and a structured environment. It’s best for students who are serious about their career in technology.

Thank you
With 94 percentile in JEE Main, you do have a chance to get B.Tech in CSE, but it depends on your category, home state, and the type of college you're aiming for. If you're from the general category, getting CSE in older NITs or IIITs might be difficult, but you can still get branches in newer IIITs like IIIT Kalyani, IIIT Agartala, or other GFTIs in the later rounds of JoSAA counselling.
If you belong to a reserved category like OBC, SC, ST, or EWS, your chances are better, and you might get CSE in more established colleges too. You can also consider private universities that accept JEE scores and offer good placements in CSE, such as Shiv Nadar, Amrita, or LNMIIT. Participating in both JoSAA and CSAB counselling will help you explore more options and improve your chances.
If you have 94 percentile in JEE Main, you can definitely get admission into B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering (CSE), though the availability of colleges will depend on your category, home state, and the specific round of counselling.
With 94 percentile, your expected All India Rank would be around 60,000–70,000, and that puts you out of reach for top NITs or IIITs for CSE in general category. However, you still have good chances in newer NITs, IIITs, and top state-level or private universities through JOSAA, CSAB, or state counselling. Private universities like VIT, SRM, and Amrita might also offer you CSE based on JEE or their own exams.
So yes, you can get CSE, but the college tier and campus will depend on how flexible you are with location, fees, and round.
Hello
With a 67 percentile in JEE Main, your approximate rank would be around 3.5 to 4 lakh in the Common Rank List. Getting admission into top NITs, IIITs, or GFTIs through JoSAA may be difficult unless you have a strong category rank (SC/ST/OBC/EWS). However, you can still participate in the counselling rounds and look for seats in lesser-known GFTIs or North Eastern NITs in spot rounds, especially if you're open to any branch or location.
With a JEE Main rank of around 4 lakh and an ST category rank of 9,000, your chances in top NITs or IIITs are low, but you might still get admission in some lower or newer GFTIs or state government colleges with low fees, especially under the ST category quota.
You should definitely participate in JoSAA counselling, because even with this rank, spot rounds or last rounds may offer you a seat in branches other than CSE like civil, mechanical, or metallurgy in colleges where ST cutoffs go very low. Also explore state-level counselling in your home state, where you might get better chances and lower tuition fees due to the quota and domicile advantage.
With an 88.04 percentile in JEE Main 2025, your approximate All India Rank would be around 1.1 to 1.15 lakh. At this rank, getting Computer Science in the top NITs or IIITs through JOSAA counselling is difficult if you're from the general category. However, you still have good options. You may get non-core branches like Mechanical, Civil, or even ECE in some of the newer or northeastern NITs depending on category and home state quota. In IIITs like Nagpur, Bhagalpur, or Manipur, there’s a fair chance to get circuit branches if you go till the last round or participate in CSAB counselling after JOSAA.
If you’re open to private universities, institutes like VIT, SRM, Amrita, LNCT, and Jaypee Noida often take students with your percentile for CSE or IT, either through JEE score or their own exams. State counselling can also give you a solid chance if you’re from states like Maharashtra, West Bengal, Haryana, or Uttar Pradesh. Colleges under these states often offer good options with lower cutoffs for home-state candidates.
Hii, I appreciate your interest towards Robotics & Automation. with a rank of 8.04 lakh, getting Robotics & Automation in general round is highly impossible. Also you can apply under management quota or search for the vacant seats in later rounds. And there is a possibility where you can apply through Centralized Admission Process (CAP) in Maharastra if you're eligible.Orelse consider similar private colleges in Maharashtra.
With 95.88 percentile in JEE Mains, your All India Rank is likely around 45,000–50,000, which gives you a decent chance to get CSE at CBIT (Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology) under the B-Category (management quota).
Why you have a chance:
B-Category seats are not strictly based on JEE rank, but percentile and academic performance are considered.
95.88 percentile is considered strong for B-Category admissions, especially if you apply early and meet all requirements.
What to do:
Apply as soon as CBIT opens B-Category applications.
Keep documents ready (JEE scorecard, 12th marks, etc.).
Be prepared for higher fees under management quota.
