My son got 93% in JEE Mains and has got options of Amrita Bangalore Cat2 CSE, VIT Chennai Cat5 ECE, Manipal Bangalore ECE. Which one to choose

OISHEE BANERJEE 22nd Jun, 2025

If your son’s first preference is CSE, then Amrita Bangalore clearly leads among the three, simply because CSE opens more doors in terms of placements, internships, and future-proof careers. Amrita is also NAAC A++ and has a strong reputation, especially for CSE. Category 2 is also manageable fee-wise compared to higher categories.

VIT Chennai is a decent campus, and their ECE program is solid, but Category 5 means much higher fees and very low chance of branch upgrade later. CSE at VIT Chennai would have been more competitive here — but ECE at that fee tier is not as strong a deal unless your son has a strong interest in core electronics.

Manipal Bangalore (MIT Bengaluru campus) is a newer campus. ECE there is still developing in terms of placements and faculty compared to the main Manipal campus. Unless your son strongly prefers Bangalore or is getting some advantage here like scholarships or internship access, it doesn't stand out above Amrita.

So, recommendation: Go with Amrita Bangalore CSE (Category 2). It balances a strong branch with a decent campus and better long-term potential in the tech industry. If your son is open to core electronics and you’re okay with the higher cost, VIT Chennai is fine, but still comes second to CSE at Amrita.

All the best!

My rank is 4 lakh In neet iam eligible Or not and please tell the fee structure also

Aryan 25th Jun, 2025

Hi dear candidate,

With the rank of 400,000 in NEET exam you can expect colleges like VELS Medical College that accepts admissions with rank around and above 4,00,000. The government colleges are unlikely to fall under your rank so private colleges or deemed universities is the option you have. The fees for VELS Medical College is around INR 19,00,000 per year for MBBS. You may also consider a year drop if you are not satisfied with the admission this time to score better in 2026.

You should try our NEET college predictor for the best available colleges for your rank:

My son passed 12th with 91% this year and he got 54%ile in jee mains and could not appear for WBJEE. Then please let me know, whether he can be admitted to B tech(CSE) or not.

OISHEE BANERJEE 22nd Jun, 2025

Absolutely, your son still has options. Even with a 54 percentile in JEE Mains and not appearing for WBJEE, he can still get admission into a B.Tech CSE program, especially through private universities or colleges that offer direct admission or accept JEE scores with no specific cutoff.

Since his 12th board marks are strong at 91%, many private engineering colleges across India — and especially in West Bengal, Odisha, Karnataka, Maharashtra, and even some deemed universities — offer admissions based on board merit or low JEE scores. Some of these colleges conduct their own counselling or may have institutional quota seats for students who haven’t cleared WBJEE or scored high in JEE.

For example, colleges like UEM Kolkata, Brainware University, Seacom, Sister Nivedita University, and some AICTE-approved private colleges in West Bengal may admit him through management or general counselling with his 12th marks and JEE percentile. If you're open to colleges in other states, options expand further — institutes like Reva University, Ajeenkya DY Patil, Lovely Professional University, and many others allow direct B.Tech admission.

Can you please tell me deleted syllabus for JEE MAINS 2025-2026 academic year

OISHEE BANERJEE 22nd Jun, 2025

For the JEE Main 2025–26 academic year, the syllabus has been rationalised in line with NCERT textbook changes. So yes, certain topics have been officially deleted and won't be asked in the exam.

In Physics, topics like communication systems, some detailed portions of thermodynamics (like the Carnot engine), and advanced concepts in waves, Doppler effect, and resonance have been removed. A few parts of kinematics involving vector products have also been taken out.

In Chemistry, chapters like surface chemistry, environmental chemistry, polymers, chemistry in everyday life, hydrogen, s-block elements, and metallurgy (extraction of metals) have been deleted. Some atomic structure and gas laws sections were trimmed too.

In Mathematics, topics such as mathematical reasoning, statistics, some parts of vector algebra and 3D geometry, principle of mathematical induction, and certain portions of the binomial theorem have been dropped.

If you're preparing for JEE, it's a smart move to stick to the updated NCERT textbooks and official NTA syllabus.

i got 62 percent in jee mains 2025, Im a sc category girl ,which college and branch i get ...

OISHEE BANERJEE 29th Jun, 2025

With 62 percentile in JEE Main 2025 and being a girl from the SC category, you still have a fair chance of getting a seat in some NITs, IIITs, or GFTIs, especially in the later rounds of JoSAA or CSAB counselling. While CSE or ECE may not be possible, branches like civil, mechanical, or metallurgy in newer or less competitive colleges such as NIT Mizoram or Assam University could be within reach. Your chances improve if you're flexible with the branch and location.

430 marks in neet 2025 belong to sc category and I am from Bihar.can I got government medical college for mbbs

SHUBHANGI SINHA 22nd Jun, 2025

Hello,

You have a reasonable chance of getting a government MBBS seat if you scored 430 on the NEET 2025 and are from Bihar and fall under the SC category.

AIQ

The typical cutoff score for SC individuals applying to government medical colleges on the AIQ is between 390 and 440. Even if 430 is within the range, getting into a top college is improbable because to the intense competition.

State Quota

The state quota cutoff may differ from the AIQ and be somewhat lower. You have higher chances of getting government MBBS seat in Bihar with 430 marks through state quota.

You will also have fair chance of getting BDS and BAMS because of their lower cutoff.

WHAT CAN YOU DO

  • Take part in BCECEB'S Bihar UGMAC counselling,
  • Sort the list of potential government collages according to your preferences.
  • Seats tend to shuffle, so pay attention to the second-round and mop up rounds.

my SC rank in jee main is 136957 but my CRL rankis above 14 lakh which one will be considered in hstes ??

gopi 21st Jun, 2025

Hello Aspirant,

Haryana State Technical Education Society (HSTES) counseling typically considers the reserved category rank (SC rank) when providing the allotment of seats in that reserved category; for instance, SC reserved category candidates usually will be allotted a seat in the SC category based on their SC rank of 1,36,957, not their CRL (Common Rank List) rank. For example, for general/open category seats, the CRL rank will be considered. It is essential to upload valid category certificates. Please follow the instructions for counseling carefully.
