sir.. can we become a judge directly after L. L. B degree?If yes.. how much time it takes after llb degree?

Hello aspirant

You can't become a judge directly after completing LLB . You have to go through an entrance exam and qualify it.

You can join judiciary and become a judge. There is an exam of judiciary after LLB . To be eligible for the exam ,

You must have graduation in any of streams in LLB .

You must secure minimum 55% marks in LLB and also in entrance exam.

Candidates with LLM degree can also apply for the job profile of a judge.

Candidates with just Diploma or certificate courses in law are not eligible to become a judge.

Hello Aspirant,

To become a judge after your LLB degree :

  • There is an Entrance Exam that you can seat for after your LLB degree known as Judicial Service Examination which is held in three successive stages namely Preliminary Examination, Mains and Viva-Voce/Interview.

  • Qualifying that you can join Judiciary and become a judge in lower judiciary services.

  • To be eligible for the Judiciary Exam, you must have graduation in any of the streams with LLB with minimum 55% marks in both.

  • For higher judiciary services, you must pass the Entrance Exam and should have a minimum number of years of litigating practice as an advocate usually seven years for qualifying to be a Judge.

There is a nation level exam, UPSC which is conducted once a year for recruitment to government civil services like IAS, IPS, IRS, IFS etc. Exam is conducted in two stages: prelims and mains. Is it necessary to do LLB from NLU to become a civil Judge?

hi,

To become a civil judge you have to appear in Judiciary Exam which held in state wise by  public service commission of particular state. however the eligibility criteria to appear in civil judge exam is candidates must be an Indian citizen and must hold  an LLB or equivalent degree from an institute that is recognized by the Bar Council of India. so it is not necessary to do llb from nlu particularly .

hi,

the eligibility criteria of education to become a judge in India is as follows:

Candidates must have completed an LLB course of either 5 years or 3 years.

Candidates with an LLM degree from a recognized education board can also apply for the job profile of a Judge.

since you are going to complete the bachelors course, you are eligible to apply for three years llb course. after taking admission you have to study the university syllabus of llb course. now coming to judge recruitment process, students have to appear in state wise public service commission examinations which held early as per vacancy wise. so besides college study go through the previous years papers and syllabus of the recruitment exam.

now coming to coaching institute there is various institute available state wise, you have to check the reviews of students before joining. apart from taking coaching you have to prepare yourself by studying books, follow our article at below link to know about clat preparation books:
