During the academic program, colleges give many assignments, projects for which students need to do some researches. You may have to make PPT Presentations, word document for your project, excel sheet presentation. It's not mandatory to buy a laptop. If you have desktop at your home, that could be enough. It only depends on the need.

Hello student as you're a student of electronic and communication branch I believe you need to do hard programming on your laptop so you can purchase any laptop of your budget, but if you're planning to learn programming in future then go with Apple Mac book because it's most recommended laptop for programming or go with laptop which has specifications of 8GB RAM, 1TB HARD DISK, SSD, Battery Backup of minimum 4-6hrs and light weight.

• If you are spending Rs.30,000 and above ,look for these minimum specs:Core i5 CPU , 1920X1080 screen , 8 GB RAM, SSD storage instead of hard drive.

Chromebooks are good for students .There are also windows laptops and mac books offering many features.

Some good ones under 30,000 are HP Chromebook 14,Lenovo idea pad S145,HP 15 DB1059AU , dell vostro 3468.

Honestly speaking ,  B pharm student doesn't need a laptop for his studies. You will need a laptop during final year for project/ thesis work and for seminar/ presentations which require MS office.

However today  Android mobiles can compensate laptop. You can install all necessary apps in your Android phone such as MS Word, MS Exceel

i5 processors from Intel (quad core)

FHD display( for coding purposes this is must for eyes as it self straining eyes)

2-4 GB Graphic Card for design softwares( NVIDIA > AMD)

15" model as 13 is not good for college students because lower end 13" models have poor ventilations

8GB RAM( upto 16)

Consider these factors and chose one from the brands HP, Dell, Lenovo.Asus.

Ideapad-lenovo, Asus VIvoBooks, Dell Inspiron are some good options.

You cannot make any changes in MAT application form as there isn't any correction facility.You have to either apply a fresh application choosing CBT mode or make some alternative arrangements to give the test in IBT mode.You can seek help from your friends or relatives to provide you desktop/laptop with with proper internet connectivity.

Both are important based on your requirements, see mobile is kind of necessary as important notes would be shared among college grps and other important things related to exams.

And if you want to learn programing language or graphic design etc then you must require a laptop for that.

So I suggest bto buy both the gadgets.
