hello, actually Im a b com llb final year student I wanted to do criminology is it possible for that Im interested in that field. if its possible how should I move forward with it can you explain. and also is it good to study MBA right after finishing my llb.

Gregary mathew K.B 10th May, 2025

Yes, it is absolutely possible to pursue criminology after completing your B.Com LLB. Since you already have a law background, transitioning into criminology can be a strong and valuable path.

To move forward:

  1. Decide your area of interest within criminology – options include criminal psychology, forensic science, cybercrime, juvenile justice, victimology, and more.

  2. Pursue a postgraduate degree in criminology or criminal justice. You can go for an MA/MSc in Criminology or a related PG diploma. Some LLM programs also offer a specialization in criminal law with a focus on criminology.

  3. Top institutes in India offering criminology programs include:

    • National Institute of Criminology and Forensic Science (NICFS), Delhi

    • University of Madras

    • Gujarat Forensic Sciences University

    • Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS)

  4. Gain relevant experience through internships with legal aid, police departments, forensic labs, cyber cells, or NGOs.

  5. Build your career in areas such as criminal analysis, forensic investigation, research, policy development, or working with agencies like CBI, NIA, or IB.

As for whether it’s a good career – yes, it is a meaningful and evolving field with opportunities to make a real difference. However, it can be emotionally challenging and competitive in certain areas, so dedication and continuous learning are key.

I passed 12th in 2024 so can i get addmission in LLB for 5YR

Tanisha chaudhary 13th May, 2025

HEY THERE!!!

Yes, you can take admission in a 5-year LLB (BA LLB) course after clearing 12th in 2024.

Eligibility Criteria

  • You should have cleared 10+2 (12th standard) from a known board.
  • There is usually at least 45–50% marks required in 12th (the percentage will vary depending on the college and your category).
  • Most of the national and state-level entrance exams have no upper age limit.

Admission Process

  • Entrance Examination: Admission in most 5-year LLB courses is via an entrance test like:
  • CLAT (Common Law Admission Test) for National Law Universities.
  • AILET for NLU Delhi.
  • CUET for central universities (e.g., Jammu University).
  • State-level exams (e.g., MHT CET Law, TS LAWCET, AP LAWCET, etc.).
  • Merit-Based Admission: Certain colleges/universities also admit candidates on the basis of 12th marks.
  • Application Dates: CUET UG exam in May; result in July; university admissions thereafter.

What You Should Do

  1. Verify the eligibility and entrance exam required for your desired college or university.
  2. Register and take the entrance exam (such as CLAT, CUET, or the applicable state/national exam).
  3. Apply for admission on the college/university portal once results are announced.

In short:

Since you cleared 12th in 2024, you are free to apply for a 5-year LLB course in 2025. You should sit for the respective entrance test and obtain minimum marks set by the college or university you want to apply for.

Do I have to pay the entire fee for BA LLB in one go?

Tanisha chaudhary 12th May, 2025

HEY THERE!!

  • You don't usually pay the whole BA LLB course fee upfront. The majority of universities and Indian law colleges offer their fees to be paid on an annual or semester basis and not as a one-time payment for all five years.
  • For instance, BML Munjal University takes INR 3,70,000 yearly, to be paid at the beginning of the academic year, and other institutes have similar payment structures on yearly or semester bases. There are also some incidental one-time charges like registration fees or security deposits at the admission time, but the bulk tuition and hostel charges are usually distributed over the duration of the course.
  • Always verify the exact payment schedule of your preferred college, but it is not common practice to pay the whole five-year fee in advance under Indian law colleges.

Hope it clears your doubt , If not feel free to ask again.

Hii i have completed my diploma 3 years can I join 5 year LLB?

Gregary mathew K.B 5th May, 2025

If you've completed a 3-year diploma after 10th standard , you generally cannot directly join the 5-year integrated LLB program in India.

Here's why:

  • The 5-year LLB program (like BA LLB, BBA LLB, BCom LLB) requires 10+2 (12th standard) as the minimum educational qualification.

  • A diploma after 10th is not considered equivalent to 12th by most law universities and the Bar Council of India.

What can you do?

Option 1: Complete 12th (PUC or equivalent)
– Then you can apply for 5-year LLB.

Option 2: Complete a 3-year degree (like BA, B.Com, B.Sc.)
– After that, you can join the 3-year LLB program , which is meant for graduates.
