As per the eligibility criteria, candidate should have a 12th degree with PCM stream. After that the selection is based on the performance of the written test and the fitness and strength test.

NO Commerce Stream Students are not eligible for applying for Loco Pilot Exam. You need to have at least 12th with PCM or diploma in engineering qualification to become eligible for it. Selection is based on the performance in written exam and physical fitness test.

The Eligibility Criteria for becoming a Loco Pilot is mentioned as below :

The minimum and the universal eligibility criteria is a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical or Electronics or in any similar field . Students are also required to undertake area-specific exams and certifications in order to get the license as a Loco Pilot.

If you have studied Commerce, you would not be able to qualify for the Loco Pilot Aptitude test. You must have at least a 12th degree with PCM or an engineering degree to meet the criteria.

No, must have science pass and ITI of electrical or diseal trade are required. To become a successful loco pilot in Indian railways one has to complete an ITI grade in diesel mechanic, electrical mechanical grades, or a Diploma in electrical or mechanical is needed after this one has to apply for the post of ALP.

In order to get recruited as assistant Loco pilot and technician in Railway, you have to sit in RRB ALP and Technician Exam which is conducted by Railway recruitment board (RRB). RRB ALP is taken in all the different railway zones throughout India.

It is conducted across three stages of paper, in which it covers Logical reasoning, general intelligence, general awareness, current affairs, mathematics, general science and engineering.

Yes you are eligible to do Loco Pilot course if you have done your intermediate class from any recognised college in Humanities stream.

As the student from all over the stream are allowed to become loco pilot after completing their class 12th and the candidates need to appear for diploma in Engineering entrance examinations for various courses such as mechanical , electronic or automobile to get the eligibility for loco pilot after 12th.

To get a job after completion of diploma in mechanical engineering, examination is conducted by RRB. It is the best way to secure a job. After this there will be interview and physical standard exam, after qualification in both of these you can become a loco pilot.  Also, through UPSC you can become a loco pilot.
