In the first round of Maharashtra NEET UG counselling around 31000 students are selected for MBBS and BDS.
But, you need to remember that this number represents that around 31000 candidates have been selected and not all of them will take admission in their allotted college. So, you can expect that less seat will be occupied than the selection number.

*Maharashtra has introduced three new Medical Colleges affiliated by MCI. 500 seats will be added to the pool of undergraduate medical seats in the state this year. Of the three colleges, two with total 300 seats has been affiliated as deemed university where as one will run by private management.

Well, counselling works in a way, that if you get a seat upgradation then even if you wish you can't go down, So once you get any upgradation then the seat is yours, provided you don't get disqualified further, which you won't mostly...
