Manipal University has its own entrance exam for admission to its courses. It is one of the best private colleges in India for pursuing B.Tech.

According to the cutoff released in 2018, the closing rank for CSE branch was 2483. Whatever happens this, it isn't going to drop so low till the rank scored by you, i.e., 22000.

Hence, you won't get a seat in Manipal in CSE branch. Yeah, if you want to go for civil engineering, you can get into it. But it isn't advised to prefer college over course. So, better go for other colleges

Both the colleges are good, ie. Manipal Institute of Technology, Manipal & Thapar University. Both have got AAAA+ that it means they are very good in all perspectives to take admission into. Manipal institute of technology has its own paper for msap( Manipal school of architecture and planning) . In that paper you have to secure good rank as they have only 160-170 seats in it. But this number can change because it is a private university and autonomous so it can increase its seats any year according to the demand to earn more profit but usually this doesn't happen. 

Visit career360 website to know everything about architecture college available through jee mains paper 2 . There is also AAT for getting admission into IITs for b arch but it is entirely different from jee mains.

Both the colleges are best in their own way. It depends on which program you want your admission and on many factors like fees of the college, transport if you are a hosteler, distance from your home, placements of the college, facilities provided in the college and also college faculty.
