I have got a total of 97 marks in manipal 2018 examination. Can i expect a seat in manipal univesity?

Priyank Sharma 9th May, 2018
It will get you a seat in the branches of print and media, industrial production, but not on the day of the first round of counselling. You would need to apply for the waiting list, and in the 2nd or 3rd round of councelling you could get the above mentioned branches. You won't be able to get the branches of automobile engineering, electrical and electronics, mechatronics, mechanical, and branches like computer science, electronics and communications, computer and communication, information technology are not to be considered.

It would be better if you apply for the second and third attempts of MU-OET, and prepare well for those and try and give your best, and you will easily get better marks then.

(You could easily get these engineering branches in Manipal University, Jaipur or Sikkim Manipal University, if you want to, but the quality of education would not be better than it is here, in MIT, Manipal.)

Thank you

Vit Vellore vs Mit Manipal?? For cse.

Shivam Gautam 12th Apr, 2018

Hii Priyanshu

Both university VIT AND MANIPAL are considered to be one among the best universities across the country.

But in comparison among these both universities you should go with VIT because it is considered as one of the preferrable university of many JEE aspirants.

VIT is having a great posture of education system by adopting FCCI for students.

Coming to the point of CSE branch both are having the great posture as well placements. But according to me fee structure for CSE branch for both of these universities will somewhat differ. According to my point of view if you are are in the zone to select one among these both I advise you to go with VIT.

All the best

How is fee structure for CSE? Any foreign collaboration for CSE?

Ankit raj 8th Apr, 2018

Let us start from a clean slate. So let totalExpense = 0.

The tuition fee depends on your course of study. But let us assume it is 10lacs for convenience.

So totalExpense = 0 + 10lacs = 10lacs.

Add to that the hostel and mess fee, which will be around 4 lacs.

So totalExpense = 10lacs + 4 lacs = 14 lacs.

This is the fee that Manipal will charge you, approx. The rest is what YOU spend.

(Scholarships are also available on merit, it is worth mentioning. The usual scholarships can take off anywhere from 50% to 100% off your tuition bill.)

Now this should ideally take care of your general requirements for the tenure, that is food and lodging along with studies. However, you will have extra expenses, like eating out, movies etc, let us factor that into our equation.

Let us say that you spend around 5k a month on a tight budget(this will differ, but again for our convenience). So for 4 years, it becomes:

4X10X5000 = 200000 = ~ 2 lacs.

So, totalExpense = 14lacs + 2lacs = 16 lacs.

Add to this the cost of travel from and back to your home, if you live far from the city. Let us assume you will make 2 journeys per sem, one to your home and one back. That makes 16 journeys. Let us also assume that you are proactive and manage to book flight tickets economically. So let us assume you spend no more than 5k per journey.

16 X 5000 = 80,000

So totalExpense = 16 lacs + 80,000 = 16.8 lacs.

Model questions n answer papers for lateral entry admission to 2nd year / 3rd semester

Rohan K 7th Apr, 2018

Hello Anil Shete. Thanks for contacting Careers360 and we hope we will be able to answer your query.

Note that there is no entrance exam that is required by the colleges to take admission through lateral entry window, that is, admissions to students who have a diploma to their second year undergraduate course.

So, there is no need to worry. I would just advice you to contact the college you want to study directly for more information.

Hope this helps you and all the best!
