Yes,Manipal university engineering fee is quite expensive,but they do justice for the money how much they take!
Because Manipal university is rated as AAAA+ by Careers360
and even it is ranked below 100 by MHRD Government of India (2017)
the fee for entire engineering course costs more than 10 lacs but coming to the accomodation fee/hostel fee and mess fee it is bit expensive.

As per careers360 rating, Manipal Institute of Technology, Manipal (AAAA+) is better than UPES, Dehradun (AAA+). ( A : Lowest Rating AAAAA : Highest Rating) But if you compare Manipal Jaipur campus with UPES then UPES, Dehradun (AAA+) is better than Manipal University, Jaipur (AAA). Good Luck.
If you want to take admission in private engineering college then you should apply for MUOET (Manipal Entrance Exam), VITEEE, SRMJEEE, AEEE (Amrita Engineering Entrance Exam), BITSAT Etc. Prepare hard for JEE Main & JEE Advanced and try to get admission in IITs & NITs, also fill all the above private entrance exam forms to have options. Good Luck.
