i am a up domicile obc candidate my marks in 12th boards are 61 in chemistry and 64 in physics and 59 in mathematics am i eligible for getting admission in jadavpur university

Prachi Kumari 29th Dec, 2024

Hello,

Eligibility for admission to Jadavpur University depends on various factors, including the specific course you’re applying for and its cut-off requirements. Generally, for undergraduate engineering courses, the following conditions apply:

  1. Minimum Marks : Jadavpur University often requires a minimum of 60% in aggregate in subjects like Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics for engineering.
  2. Cut-off Ranks : Admission is also based on WBJEE or JEE Mains ranks.
  3. Category Quota : As an OBC candidate, you may have some relaxation in cut-off ranks compared to general category candidates.
  4. Subject Eligibility : Ensure that you meet the subject-specific requirements for the course you wish to apply for.

Hope it helps !

i am a up domicile obc candidate and my marks is 61 in chemistry and 64 in physics and 59 in mathematics can i get admission in jadavpur university

Vanshika Agarwal 28th Dec, 2024

Assuming you wish to get into the B.Tech Program of Jadavpur University.

Unfortunately, with your marks of 61 in Chemistry, 64 in Physics, and 59 in Maths, it is less likely that you will be able to secure admission to Jadavpur University. The minimum cutoff for OBC candidates in the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) for admission to Jadavpur University is typically much higher, often above 70 in each subject, a safe score would be 80 above in each subject though.

You can try to get admission through latent entry later in your second year for instance or you can try to go for other universities and colleges.

All the best!

Deepti Singh 5th Dec, 2024

Hello,

To get into CU, Kolkata, to do a B.Sc. in Mathematics , you must qualify for their admission requirements. Admission is usually merit-based based on your Class 12 marks in relevant subjects. You must have studied Mathematics in Class 12 and got at least an aggregate percentage of around 60%. The admission process is usually as follows:

  • Application: Complete the online application form at the CU website during the admission period- usually in the month of June/July.
  • Merit List: According to Class 12 marks, the university publishes a merit list.
  • Document Verification: The documents would be verified for shortlisted candidates, and they would have to pay the admission fee.

Ensure to verify the exact eligibility criteria and deadline details at CU's website. If any queries arise, do visit their admission office or reach out to their helpline.

Hello Bharath,

To improve your resume during this extra year, here's what you can focus on:

  1. Clear Backlogs: Make sure to clear your backlogs. Seek help from tutors or online resources to understand tough subjects.

  2. Online Courses and Certifications: Take certifications in Math, Physics, and Computer Science from platforms like Coursera, edX, or Udemy. This will boost your knowledge and resume.

  3. Entrance Exams: Prepare for exams like GATE for higher studies or CAT for management. If you're interested in higher education abroad, consider GRE and TOEFL.

  4. Internships: Apply for internships in Data Science, Software Development, or Research. Real-world experience will add value.

  5. Projects: Work on personal projects related to your field, such as coding projects or physics simulations.

  6. Networking: Connect with professionals on LinkedIn, attend webinars, and expand your network for future opportunities.

  7. Freelancing: Consider freelance work in programming or data analysis through platforms like Upwork.

These steps will help you gain experience, enhance your skills, and strengthen your resume. Stay focused, and use this time wisely.

I am preparing for IIT- JAM 2025 PHYSICS and I had a backlog in 5th semester mathematics in bsc non med what happens if I dont clear that backlog until the admission process after jam,

Samprikta Mondal 28th Nov, 2024

A backlog in your UG degree, especially in an important subject like maths can potentially hinder your admission to IITS for a PG program. The eligibility criteria and specific combinations of subjects accepted by various IITs varies a lot . Some IITs might have different policies regarding backlogs.
A backlog would definitely reduce your chances of getting admission in top tier IITs as they usually select candidates with good academic records.
Conditional Admission: You might be offered conditional admission also wherein you are asked to clear the backlog within a certain period.
Try to clear backlog as soon as possible.Seek your academic advisor or department head for advice.
Solve previous year's question papers and take mock tests to prepare.
Keep updating on the admission criteriaCheck on the official website of IITs from time to time for the latest admission criteria and eligibility.
Keep abreast of changes in the admission process or specific requirements for your program. iit ELIGIBILTY
