How much placement scope is for student from mathematics and computing branch of niit hamirpur.

Abhilasha Agrawal 8th Aug, 2025

The MnC branch at NIT Hamirpur records a 68% placement rate, with an average package of rs. 12.2 LPA and highest offers nearing rs. 27 LPA, making it a solid choice for software, analytics, and research roles.

While campus recruitment is decent, some students rely on off-campus or self-driven placements, bolstered by strong coding and open-source skills.

Overall, MnC at NIT Hamirpur offers very good placement opportunities, especially if you remain proactive and skill-oriented.

Last year admission cutt off of b.sc in mathematics

preeti kataria 5th Jul, 2025

Last year, the admission cutoff for B.Sc in Mathematics varied depending on the college and university. For top Delhi University colleges like Hindu College and Miranda House, the CUET cutoff was very high, around 750+ out of 800, which is nearly 95–96 percentile. Banaras Hindu University had a slightly lower cutoff around  475–490 marks out of 850–1000. State universities and private colleges  generally had lower cutoffs, between 65% to 80% in 12th or equivalent CUET marks. So,top colleges required high CUET scores, while other are more flexible depending on seat availability and category

For BSC HONOURS IN MATHEMATICS, DU OR BHU UNIVERSITY which is better for Career Growth

gopi 8th Jun, 2025

Hello Aspirant,

Both Delhi University (DU) and Banaras Hindu University (BHU) are elite universities and each has its own merits. Here is a summarized view of the two universities:

  • Delhi University (DU): This offers great exposure, diverse peer interaction opportunities, and good placement/internship options, especially since it is situated in a metro city with an active academic environment and flourishing corporate industry. The curriculum is regularly updated, supplemented with a variety of extracurricular and research amenities.
  • Banaras Hindu University: BHU has a vibrant academic environment and a fantastic mathematics program with dedicated faculty. The academic environment is research-based and complemented with excellent alumni, many of whom have gone on to complete their higher studies (i.e. IIT JAM, GATE, etc) or to international programs.

In summary, for a career based program, DU is possibly less tedious and better for networking/job opportunities in metros, whilst BHU is a good option for research and higher study opportunities.

According to previous year, the top NITs such as NIT Trichy, NIT Surathkal, NIT Warangal, and NIT Rourkela had cutoffs for ST candidates in this branch ranging from around 1,500 to 3,000 (CRL-ST rank) in the JEE Main exam. In mid-tier NITs like NIT Calicut, NIT Durgapur, NIT Silchar, and NIT Hamirpur, the closing ranks for the ST category went up to 4,000–6,000 depending on the round of counselling and whether the seat was under Home State or Other State quota.

Hope this helps. All the best!
