for which proffesional courses applied maths in 11th and 12th are required?

Prachi Kumari 29th Apr, 2025

Hello Kritika,

Applied Maths in 11th and 12th is useful for many professional courses , but it is mainly accepted in courses related to commerce, management, social sciences, and a few technical fields. Here are some professional courses where Applied Maths is usually accepted or useful:

  1. B.Com (Hons) / B.Com (General)

  2. BBA / BMS (Bachelor of Management Studies)

  3. Economics (Hons) – Some colleges accept Applied Maths.

  4. CA (Chartered Accountancy)

  5. CMA (Cost Management Accounting)

  6. CS (Company Secretary)

  7. BA in Mathematics or Statistics – Some universities accept Applied Maths.

  8. Hotel Management

  9. Law (BA LLB, BBA LLB) – Maths is not compulsory, but Applied Maths can help.

However, for engineering courses (like B.Tech or BE) and some pure science degrees , only standard Maths is accepted, not Applied Maths.

Hope it helps !

is maths is compulsory for BTech Bio Technology is telangana through TSEMCET

Prachi Kumari 24th Apr, 2025

Hello,

Mathematics is not compulsory for B.Tech Biotechnology in Telangana through TS EAMCET . Students from both MPC (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry) and BiPC (Biology, Physics, Chemistry) streams are eligible to apply for B.Tech Biotechnology.

The eligibility criteria for TS EAMCET state that candidates must have passed or appeared for the final year of the Intermediate examination (10+2 pattern) with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics or Biology as optional subjects.

However, it's important to note that the curriculum for B.Tech Biotechnology may include mathematics-related subjects. Some universities may offer additional support or bridge courses in mathematics for students from the BiPC stream to help them cope with the coursework.

Hope it helps !

Maths weightage for eapcet 2025

SUKRITI GUPTA 28th Apr, 2025

The weightage of Mathematics in the AP EAPCET (Engineering, Agriculture and Pharmacy Common Entrance Test) 2025 is significant. According to the official exam pattern, the Mathematics section comprises 80 questions out of the total 160 questions in the engineering stream.

Each question in the AP EAPCET carries one mark , and there is no negative marking . Therefore, the Mathematics section accounts for 80 marks out of the total 160 marks in the examination for engineering aspirants. This means that Mathematics holds 50% of the total weightage in the AP EAPCET 2025 for engineering admissions.

Based on previous year trends and analysis of important topics, certain chapters in Mathematics tend to have a higher weightage. These often include topics like Probability, Vector Algebra, Calculus (both Differential and Integral), Matrices & Determinants, and Coordinate Geometry . Focusing on these high-weightage areas can be beneficial for scoring well in the examination.

For candidates appearing for the Agriculture and Pharmacy streams of AP EAPCET, the question paper will have 80 questions from Biology (Botany - 40 and Zoology - 40), along with 40 questions each from Physics and Chemistry. Mathematics is not a part of the syllabus for the Agriculture and Pharmacy streams of AP EAPCET.

Therefore, if you are an engineering aspirant for AP EAPCET 2025, Mathematics holds a crucial position with the highest weightage of 80 marks. A strong preparation in Mathematics is essential to secure a good rank in the examination.

I wanted to cse aiml is it full of maths and if it contains maths is it very high level or just basics concepts are enough and how tough is ai, ml and is maths is required in all cse

Tanisha chaudhary 29th Apr, 2025

Pursuing CSE (Computer Science and Engineering) with a specialization in AIML (Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning) does involve a significant amount of mathematics, but the level and intensity depend on how deep you go into the field and your career goals.

How Much Maths Is Involved in CSE and AIML?

1. Core CSE Curriculum

  • Mathematics is foundational in CSE. You will study subjects like:

    • Calculus (integration, differentiation)

    • Linear Algebra

    • Discrete Mathematics

    • Probability and Statistics

    • Logic and Boolean Algebra (https://www.coursera.org/articles/does-computer-science-require-math) (https://gate2024.iisc.ac.in/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/cs.pdf) (https://www.reddit.com/r/india/comments/df153u/i_am_weak_in_maths_should_i_take_computer_science/) (https://jessup.edu/blog/engineering-technology/does-computer-science-require-math/) (https://10pie.com/math-for-computer-engineers/)

  • These are typically covered in the first 2–3 semesters and are essential for understanding algorithms, data structures, and computer systems.

2. Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning (AIML)

  • AIML is more math-intensive than general CSE.

  • Key math areas for AIML:

    • Linear Algebra (for neural networks, vector spaces)

    • Probability & Statistics (for data analysis, model evaluation)

    • Calculus (for optimization, backpropagation in neural networks)

    • Discrete Mathematics (for logic, combinatorics)

  • You need to understand these areas to grasp how AI/ML algorithms work and to develop or tune models. (https://www.coursera.org/articles/does-computer-science-require-math) (https://jessup.edu/blog/engineering-technology/does-computer-science-require-math/) (https://yetiai.com/is-ai-harder-than-computer-science/) (https://www.simplilearn.com/is-machine-learning-hard-article)

Is the Maths Very High Level or Are Basics Enough?

  • Basics are enough for programming and general software development.

  • For AIML , you need a deeper understanding of the above math topics, but you do not need to be a mathematician. Most undergraduate programs teach the required level step by step (https://www.coursera.org/articles/does-computer-science-require-math) (https://jessup.edu/blog/engineering-technology/does-computer-science-require-math/) (https://www.simplilearn.com/is-machine-learning-hard-article) .

  • If you aim for research or advanced roles in AI/ML, you may need to learn more advanced math, but for most industry roles, undergraduate-level math suffices (https://www.coursera.org/articles/does-computer-science-require-math) (https://jessup.edu/blog/engineering-technology/does-computer-science-require-math/) (https://www.simplilearn.com/is-machine-learning-hard-article) (https://www.ucd.ie/professionalacademy/resources/is-ai-hard-to-learn/) .

How Tough is AI/ML Compared to General CSE?

  • AI/ML is perceived as tougher because it combines programming, data handling, and mathematical modeling.

  • The learning curve is steeper, especially for those not comfortable with abstract math or statistics (https://yetiai.com/is-ai-harder-than-computer-science/) (https://www.simplilearn.com/is-machine-learning-hard-article) .

  • However, with regular practice and foundational understanding, it is manageable for most students (https://www.simplilearn.com/is-machine-learning-hard-article) (https://www.ucd.ie/professionalacademy/resources/is-ai-hard-to-learn/) .

Is Maths Required in All of CSE?

  • Yes, math is required in all of CSE to some extent, especially in the first few semesters and for understanding core concepts (https://www.coursera.org/articles/does-computer-science-require-math) (https://www.reddit.com/r/india/comments/df153u/i_am_weak_in_maths_should_i_take_computer_science/) (https://jessup.edu/blog/engineering-technology/does-computer-science-require-math/) .

  • In specialized fields like AI/ML, Data Science, Cryptography, and Computer Graphics, math is used more extensively (https://www.coursera.org/articles/does-computer-science-require-math) (https://jessup.edu/blog/engineering-technology/does-computer-science-require-math/) (https://www.simplilearn.com/is-machine-learning-hard-article) .

  • In application development or web development, math requirements are lighter.

Summary Table

Area Maths Required? Level Needed Key Topics
General CSE Yes Basics to Intermediate Calculus, Discrete Math, Logic
CSE (AIML) Yes (more) Intermediate to Advanced Linear Algebra, Probability, Statistics, Calculus
Programming Jobs Some Basics Logic, Discrete Math
AI/ML Research Yes (high) Advanced All above, plus optimization

Conclusion:
CSE with AIML is math-heavy, especially in areas like linear algebra, probability, and calculus. You do not need to be an expert, but a strong grasp of undergraduate math concepts is essential. If you are willing to put in the effort, the math is.

I had basic maths in 10th CBSE board, can I take PCM in 11th std 2025-26?

Prachi Kumari 21st Apr, 2025

Hello,

If you had basic maths in Class 10 CBSE, then officially you are not eligible to take PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Maths) in Class 11. For PCM, schools usually ask for standard maths in Class 10.

But still, some schools may allow you if your overall performance is good and if they feel you can manage. So, it mainly depends on the school's decision .

It’s better to talk to your school once and check what they allow.

Hope it helps !

I had 5 subjects in 12th Uttarakhand Board. Overall Ive scored 56.41% but failed by 1 marks in Maths. Will I have to give entire 12th exam again or can I just give maths compartment? What is the process for Uttarakhand Board?

Gregary mathew K.B 24th Apr, 2025

Students who have passed all subjects except one in the Uttarakhand Board Class 12th examinations are eligible to appear for a compartment exam in the failed subject, such as Mathematics. The Uttarakhand Board allows students who have failed in one or two subjects to take these supplementary exams as an opportunity to improve their results. Registration for the compartment exams is typically conducted online, with forms becoming available in May. By passing the compartment exam, the student is declared as having passed Class 12th overall and is eligible to receive the official pass certificate without the need to repeat the academic year.
