Will I be eligible for JEE mains and advance after giving class 12th from NIOS again? I am a pcb student who passed out of class 12th with pcb, English and IP in 2024. I dont want to continue in this path and do btech cse instead. I have also taken maths through on demand NIOS exam. Nevertheless my options are very limited as far as I can see for btech colleges due to my two marksheets (pcb from cbse and maths from nios). Im not eligible for JOSAA counseling and didnt give JEE this year. I dont feel like settling for a bad college so I was thinking about taking a second drop to give NIOS public exam in October 2025 with pcmb and English. And at last aim for JEE mains, advance, comedk etc. Im just wondering if I will be eligible after all this. Whether it be JEE mains or advanced. I tried to reach out to NTA helplines but no response.

Yes, you will be eligible for JEE Main and JEE Advanced after completing Class 12th through NIOS with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology (PCMB) in 2025. Here's a concise overview:

1. JEE Main Eligibility:

  • Educational Qualification: Pass Class 12 or equivalent with PCM subjects from a recognized board like NIOS.

  • Year of Appearance: Candidates who will appear for their Class 12 examination in 2025 are eligible for JEE Main 2025.

2. JEE Advanced Eligibility:

  • Performance in JEE Main: Be among the top 2,50,000 candidates in JEE Main.

  • Number of Attempts: A candidate can attempt JEE Advanced a maximum of two times in two consecutive years.

  • Year of Appearance in Class 12: Candidates should have appeared for the Class XII (or equivalent) examination for the first time in either 2024 or 2025 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. vedantu.com (https://jeeadv.ac.in/eligibility.html?utm_source=chatgpt.com)

3. JoSAA Counseling Eligibility:

  • Subjects Requirement: Must have Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in Class 12.

  • Aggregate Marks: Achieve a minimum of 75% aggregate marks in Class 12 for admission to IITs, NITs, IIITs, and other GFTIs. For SC, ST, and PwD candidates, the required aggregate is 65%.

4. NIOS Recognition:

  • NIOS is a recognized board, and its certificates are valid for JEE and subsequent admissions.

5. Additional Considerations:

  • Ensure all required subjects are completed in the same examination sitting to meet eligibility criteria.

  • Stay updated with official notifications from NTA and JoSAA for any changes in eligibility criteria.

Conclusion: By reappearing for Class 12 through NIOS with PCMB in 2025, you align with the eligibility requirements for JEE Main, JEE Advanced, and JoSAA counseling. Diligent preparation and adherence to application timelines will be crucial for your success.

Krishna Jamdade 28th Mar, 2025

• The OEE is conducted online, meaning candidates take the exam from a computer or device with internet access, often with a proctored mode.

•Some OEEs are conducted in a proctored mode, which means the exam is monitored remotely to ensure fairness and prevent cheating.

•The exam duration is usually 120 minutes (2 hours).

•While the exam is online, candidates may still need to log in from a specific location or device as specified in the instructions.

Mujhe UPSC ki taiyari karni hai aur main tenth mein hun abhi , mujhe science mein bio aur maths choose karne mein problem ho rahi hai to main kya lu.

kumardurgesh1802 25th Mar, 2025

Hello there,

If you want to prepare for UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) and you are currently in Class 10 , follow these steps to start early:

1. Choose the Right Stream

  • Class 11 and 12:

    • Arts (Humanities): Subjects like History, Geography, Political Science, and Economics will help in UPSC preparation.

    • Science (Bio or Maths): If you prefer Science, you can still prepare for UPSC, but Humanities subjects are more aligned with the syllabus.

  • Suggestion:

    • If you choose Science (PCM or PCB), you can pursue any undergraduate course and later switch to UPSC preparation.

    • Arts (Humanities) is recommended for a direct alignment with the UPSC syllabus.

      2. Choose the Right Graduation Course

  • UPSC Eligibility: A Bachelor’s degree in any discipline is required.

  • Suggestion:

    • If you pursue Science or Engineering, you can still apply for UPSC after graduation.

    • If you prefer a strong foundation for UPSC, BA (History, Political Science, or Economics) is a better choice.

      3. Understand the UPSC Syllabus

  • Preliminary Exam: General Studies and CSAT (Aptitude).

  • Mains Exam: 9 Papers including 4 General Studies Papers, 2 Optional Papers, Essay, and 2 Language Papers .

  • Interview (Personality Test): Focuses on communication skills, confidence, and awareness.

    4. Start with NCERT Books

  • Study NCERT books from Class 6 to 12 on History, Geography, Political Science, and Economics.

  • Develop a habit of reading newspapers and current affairs regularly.

    5. Time Management and Planning

  • Class 11 and 12: Focus on building conceptual knowledge and allocate some time to General Studies.

  • During Graduation: Start in-depth preparation for UPSC.

    6. Choose an Optional Subject Early

  • Explore subjects that align with your interest and the UPSC syllabus.

  • Finalize an optional subject by the time you begin serious preparation after graduation.

    7. Coaching or Self-Study

  • Decide whether you prefer self-study or need coaching.

  • Use online platforms, test series, and UPSC resources effectively.

I hope this answer helps you. If you have more queries then feel free to ask. We will be happy to assist you.

Thank You and wishing you a bright future ahead.
