Best book for maths for class 11,12,JEE

Akansha Sharma 23rd May, 2025

For Class 11, 12, and JEE Maths, the best books to use are NCERT textbooks because they cover all the basic concepts clearly and are important for both board exams and JEE. After that, RD Sharma is very helpful for practicing many problems and understanding topics deeply. For JEE-level questions, Cengage Mathematics is excellent as it has challenging problems and detailed explanations. Arihant’s Objective Mathematics is also good for practicing multiple-choice questions, which are common in JEE exams. Starting with NCERT and then moving to these books is a good plan.

Is maths compulsory for bscit

kumardurgesh1802 14th May, 2025

Hello there,

Yes, Mathematics is generally compulsory for B.Sc. IT (Information Technology) in most universities and colleges.

Here's the usual requirement:

  • Eligibility : 10+2 with Mathematics as one of the core subjects.

  • Some colleges may allow Mathematics or Computer Science in 12th, but this varies.

    Exceptions:

  • A few private universities or autonomous colleges may offer B.Sc. IT without strict math requirements, but these are rare and often have foundation courses to bridge the gap.

If you're aiming for a government or reputed college, having studied Mathematics in 12th is typically mandatory .
