bca is without maths and entrence exams can i join

sadafreen356 9th May, 2025

Yes, you can pursue a BCA (Bachelor of Computer Applications) degree without having studied mathematics in your 12th grade. Many colleges and universities accept students from Arts and Commerce backgrounds, and some may even offer direct admissions without entrance exams. However, it's crucial to check the specific eligibility criteria of each college, as some institutions may require mathematics or have a specific weightage for it in their admission process.

Eligibility and Admission:

Mathematics Requirement:

While some BCA programs may require mathematics in 12th grade, many colleges and universities do not.

Alternative Subjects:

Some institutions may accept students with other relevant subjects like Computer Science or Informatics Practices instead of mathematics.

Entrance Exams:

Some colleges and universities may require entrance exams for admission, while others offer direct admission based on 12th grade marks.

Direct Admission:

Private colleges and deemed universities often offer direct admission to BCA programs based on merit.

IGNOU:

IGNOU, a distance education university, also offers BCA programs without a mandatory mathematics requirement.

Factors to Consider:

Specific College Criteria:

Before applying, thoroughly check the eligibility criteria of each college, as requirements can vary.

Mathematics in Syllabus:

BCA programs typically have integrated mathematics and statistics in their syllabus.

Future Goals:

If you plan to specialize in software development, a strong mathematical foundation might be beneficial.

Practice and Self-Study:

Even without formal mathematics in 12th grade, you may need to practice mathematics during your BCA program.

I PASSED IN 12 PREVIOUS YEAR I passed in my compulsory subjects physics chemistry maths but failed in my optional subject biology my wbjee counseling for btech is nearby Do I have to face any problem in counseling in wbjee for my optional subject bio fail

Sujal Singh 9th May, 2025

Since you have passed the compulsory subjects (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics), your failure in Biology should not affect your eligibility for WBJEE counseling for B.Tech, as Biology is typically not required for the engineering stream. Ensure that all your documents are accurate and complete.

ts inter supply 2025 exam is gonna be hard in maths ?

The TS Inter Supply 2025 exam for Mathematics can be hard, but it depends on how well you’ve prepared. If you’ve already studied the syllabus thoroughly during your regular exams and focused on understanding key concepts, the exam may not seem as tough. Mathematics, especially in intermediate exams, tests not just your problem-solving skills but also your ability to apply formulas and concepts to different types of questions.

the difficulty level can vary each year, it’s always a good idea to practice previous years’ question papers and focus on important chapters that carry more weight. This will help you get a better understanding of the pattern and the types of questions that can appear. If you're feeling anxious, try to take it one step at a time, and focus on understanding the core topics, rather than memorizing. Proper revision, time management during the exam

I took pcb in 12th but I want to take computer science after 12th. Can I still take it even if didnt cimputer science or maths as optional subject?

Kishan Bhakat 8th May, 2025

Hi,

If you completed your 12th with PCB but didn’t have Mathematics , it might be challenging to pursue a B.Tech in Computer Science since most colleges require Maths in 12th.

However, you can explore options like:

  1. Bridging Courses : Some universities offer courses to help you meet the eligibility for Computer Science.

  2. Private Universities : Some institutions may have flexible admission criteria, allowing you to join B.Tech CSE without Maths in 12th.

  3. B.Sc. in Computer Science : If B.Tech isn't an option, you can pursue a B.Sc. in Computer Science and then go for a Master’s in Computer Applications (MCA) .

Check with specific universities for their eligibility requirements.

Hope this helps!

I got 39 in physics 39 in chemistry 40 in maths and 111 in Cs. With Cs instead of chemistry I get 134.5. So do i fit in Mht Cet grouping?

Prachi Kumari 6th May, 2025

Hello,

Based on the MHT CET grouping , candidates are usually grouped based on their best three subjects (Physics, Chemistry, and Maths/Computer Science).

In your case:

  • You scored 39 in Physics, 39 in Chemistry, and 40 in Maths, and 111 in Computer Science.

  • If you replace Chemistry with Computer Science, your total score becomes 134.5.

For the MHT CET, your score will depend on the course and the cutoff for that course. If you are aiming for engineering or other specific courses, you should check the official MHT CET cutoff for the specific year and course to see if you meet the requirements.

Generally, your total of 134.5 should be competitive for many courses, but it’s best to consult the latest MHT CET results or college-specific cutoffs to be sure.

Hope it helps !
