I want to join MBA for 2021-23 batch, Im currently pursuing my btech 4th Yr 2017-21. I found out only only CMAT exam is left for MBA admission as remaining were already finished.. So Im preparing for this exam. What score or percentile should I achieve to get admission in any good bscholls for MBA

Anurag Khanna 16th Dec, 2020

Hello Aspirant,

See National Testing Agency (NTA) is the competent authority responsible for conducting CMAT and this year CMAT has been delayed due to the enormous outbreak of corona virus but now it is expected to be scheduled soon. Now if you are targeting for top B-Schools through CMAT exam such as KJ Somaiya Institute of Management Studies and Research, Mumbai, Goa Institute of Management, Goa, Great Lakes Institute of Management, Chennai, Prin. LN Welingkar Institute of Management Development and Research, Mumbai and so on then you should aim the score of at least 250 or more in CMAT.

You can check out the cut-off score of CMAT from the link given below for top B-Schools :-

I hope this information helps you.

Good Luck!!

I am confused in DI and LR. Please explain me what is this.

Pakshal Ghiya 9th Dec, 2020

DI stands for Data Interpretation. LR stands for Logical Reasoning.

A new pattern has been introduced by CAT.There are 3 sections in examination. 1st is based on Language Skills, 2nd is based on LR/DI & 3rd is based on Quantitative Skills.

There will be 32 questions in DI/LR questions. In DI, data is given in the form of table, bar chart,pi chart etc and candidate has to analyze it and solve the questions given below. In LR sections, a situations with conditions is given and candidate has to apply his/her logic to solve the question.

Hope you got your answer.

I have scored around 90.25% in my 10th and I have scored 82% in my 12th but in B-tech I have scored only 58.5%. So if I get into a decent B-School (as Im planning to write CAT) will my previous academics effect during the placements in B-Schools?

harshitasharansrivastava Student Expert 17th Jan, 2021
Hi dear,

Master of Business Administration or MBA is a two year post-graduate programme offered by many institutes in India. However, the admission for the same is not done just on the basis of your 10th, 12th and graduation marks but rather on various other factors like score in mba entrance, performance in GDPI/ WAT rounds, and work experience. Also these marks are not only relevant at the time of placement but also at the time of admission. But if you work hard and try scoring a percentile above 95 in CAT then you can get into good bschools of india. For top IIIMs try getting a percentile as high as possible.

Good luck
