Total expenses in govt mbbs colleges in panjab

OISHEE BANERJEE 20th Jun, 2025

The total expenses for studying MBBS in government medical colleges in Punjab are relatively low compared to private institutions. On average, the annual tuition fee ranges from around 13,000 to 80,000 depending on the college. For example, in colleges like Government Medical College Patiala or Government Medical College Amritsar, the tuition fee is usually on the higher end of that range, close to 80,000 per year.

Apart from tuition, there are additional costs such as hostel fees, examination charges, library fees, and caution deposit. These can add another 20,000 to 40,000 per year. Hostel and mess fees vary from one college to another but generally fall between 15,000 and 30,000 annually.

So, the total yearly expense usually comes to around 1,00,000 or slightly less. Over the full 5.5-year duration of the MBBS program, the total cost is roughly between 5 to 5.5 lakh. If you belong to a reserved category like SC, ST, OBC, or EWS, you may also be eligible for fee waivers or scholarships, which can lower your expenses even more.

Opening and closing rank for mbbs college in gurat for obc at 13185 rank

Ayush Madanpotra 28th Jul, 2025

If your NEET rank is 13,185 and you belong to the OBC category in Gujarat, then you may not get a seat in top government medical colleges like BJ Medical College Ahmedabad or GMC Surat because their closing ranks for OBC category are usually below 8000.

But you still have a chance to get admission in other government or GMERS medical colleges in Gujarat. These colleges sometimes accept ranks up to 30,000 or more for OBC candidates in later rounds like Round 2 or Mop-Up round.

So with your rank, you should apply for counselling and fill in as many choices as possible. You may not get admission in the first round, but you can get a seat in second or third round depending on availability.

I got 445 in neet 2025 EWS category is there any chance of mbbs college In madhya pradesh

SHUBHANGI SINHA 20th Jun, 2025

Hello,

You have a reasonable probability of being selected for an MBBS seat in Madhya Pradesh if you receive 445 points in NEET 2025 and fall into the EWS category, particularly in the state quota. It is contingent upon a number of variables, including competition level, number of seats, and cut-off trends.

You can also monitor private or semi-government medical colleges in MP, where you may be able to secure a spot under the EWS quota with this score.

Recommendations:

  • Use the DMP MP official webpage to register for MP sate counselling.
  • Take part in every counselling session to increase your chances.
  • Explore other options like BDS, BAMS.

My name is Shaik Aiman Fathima Im waiting in MBBS counselling my marks is 298 BCE any muslim minority college in free set in Andhra Pradesh

Abhilasha Agrawal 2nd Aug, 2025

With 298 marks and BCE (Muslim minority) category, chances for a free (government quota) MBBS seat are very low, but you may get a seat in private Muslim minority medical colleges in Andhra Pradesh under Category-B (lower fee) quota in mop-up rounds. Apply in state counseling for minority quota seats.

My marks in neet 2025 are 476 and General ews category Can I get a mbbs seat in goverment college

gopi 19th Jun, 2025

Hello Jatin,

Based on 476 marks in NEET 2025 and in General-EWS category, it is important to remember that obtaining an MBBS seat in a government medical college is dependent on your state of domicile and the cut-off trajectory of that year.

  • For All India Quota (15%) - General-EWS - the cut-off is usually above 600 in most government colleges.
  • For State Quota (85%) - conditions are better if you belong to a state which has lower cut-offs or a lesser number of top rankers. North Eastern states, Bihar, Rajasthan, or Chhattisgarh are likely to have lower cut-offs in EWS category but 476 is still borderline.

You may have a better chance in:

  1. Semi-government/ESIC colleges
  2. Deemed universities with EWS seats
  3. Private colleges with government quota fees

I got 248 marks in neet 2025 from st category, and I am from gujrat.can I get admission in mbbs in private medical college??

OISHEE BANERJEE 19th Jun, 2025

With 248 marks in NEET 2025 and belonging to the ST category from Gujarat, you have qualified the exam, which is the first step toward admission. However, getting a government MBBS seat may be quite difficult at this score, as the ST cutoff for government colleges in Gujarat usually stays higher—often around 350 to 400 or more.

Still, you do have a chance of getting an MBBS seat in a private medical college, especially under the ST category. Gujarat has private colleges that reserve seats for reserved category students, and the cutoffs there are generally lower than government colleges. Your chances improve further during the mop-up or stray vacancy rounds, depending on how seats remain vacant.

Make sure to participate in Gujarat state counselling and keep checking for updated cutoff data, especially for private colleges with category-wise seat allotments.
