sai raja 11th Aug, 2024

With a score of 539 and an All India Rank of 151358, you have options for pursuing MBBS in Punjab and potentially other states.

Punjab Options

- State Quota: You can apply for the 85% state quota seats in Punjab, which are primarily reserved for local candidates. Admission is based on NEET scores, and the cutoff varies each year.

Other States

- Broader Options: Consider applying to other states as well, especially those with lower cutoffs and good quality medical colleges. States like Uttar Pradesh may have colleges with lower fees and decent infrastructure.

Recommendations

- Research Colleges: Look for medical colleges in Punjab and other states that have lower cutoffs and good reputations. Use resources like college predictors to assess your chances.

- Counseling: Participate in counseling for both Punjab and other states to maximize your admission opportunities.

Ultimately, applying to multiple states may increase your chances of securing a seat in a good medical college.

if you are a NRI is it necessary for you to be registered under NRI category or can you gi through general category as well? also how expensive is mbbs for NRI kids

kumardurgesh1802 10th Aug, 2024

Hello there,

If you're an NRI (Non-Resident Indian), you generally have the option to apply under the NRI category or the general category, depending on the specific rules of the institution you're applying to.

1. NRI vs. General Category:

  • NRI Category : Some institutions reserve a certain percentage of seats specifically for NRI candidates. These seats often have a separate fee structure and sometimes less competitive entrance requirements.

  • General Category : If you meet the eligibility criteria and choose to apply under the general category, you may do so. However, the competition can be tougher, and the fee structure will be as per the general category.

    2. Cost of MBBS for NRI Students:

  • NRI Quota Fees : The cost of MBBS for NRI students under the NRI quota is significantly higher compared to the general category. Fees can range from USD 25,000 to USD 60,000 per year (Rs.18-45 lakhs per year) depending on the college and location.

  • General Category Fees : If you apply through the general category, the fees will be as per the standard structure for that category, which is much lower than the NRI quota fees.

    3. Other Considerations:

  • Seats Availability : NRI quota seats are limited, and the competition might be less intense, but the costs are higher.

  • Documentation : Applying under the NRI quota might require additional documentation to prove your NRI status.

In summary, as an NRI, you can choose to apply under either category, but the NRI category is much more expensive. The choice depends on your preferences, financial situation, and how competitive you believe you can be in the general category.

I hope this answer helps you. If you have more queries then feel free to share your questions with us we will be happy to assist you.

Thank you and wishing you all the best for your bright future.

For state quota one is eligible on which criteria 1. Place of your domicile or 2. Place form where you have passed MBBS ?

Itisha negi 8th Aug, 2024

For state quota eligibility in postgraduate medical admissions (like NEET PG) or undergraduate medical admissions (like NEET UG), the eligibility typically depends on the place of your domicile Here’s how it generally works

- Primary Criterion: t he place of your domicile (where you have legal residency) is generally the most crucial factor for state quota eligibility.

- secondary Consideration: In certain situations, the place where you completed your MBBS may be considered, but it usually does not override domicile status.

So place of domicile is more important criteria.
