i have completed mbbs from mp born in mp but studied from 3 to 10 in Gujarat. parents are in Gujarat since 15 years have property in gujarat.i want to take admission for md through state quota of Gujarat. what are the eligibility criteria for this . will i get domicile certificate of Gujarat

Nitin Kumar 15th Jun, 2024

Most government medical colleges in Gujarat reserve a significant portion of seats (around 85%) for students with a Gujarat domicile certificate.

Having completed MBBS from MP and studied from Grade 3-10 in Gujarat might make your eligibility for the Gujarat state quota a bit complex.

Since you completed MBBS in MP, you might have an MP domicile certificate. This could put you under the All India Quota (open to students from all states) for Gujarat MD admissions, not the state quota.  If your parents have resided in Gujarat for 15 years and own property there, they might be eligible for a Gujarat domicile certificate. However, this doesn't automatically translate to your eligibility.

Some states consider the location of your 10+2 education (Class 11 & 12) more important for a domicile certificate. Since you did that in Gujarat, it might strengthen your case for a Gujarat domicile certificate.

Explore the possibility of obtaining a Gujarat domicile certificate. You can approach the Tehsildar's office in your parent's current residence area in Gujarat. Explain your situation and inquire about the documents and procedures required for obtaining a domicile certificate based on your parents' 15-year residency and property ownership.

I hope it helps!

Hi sir gud morning I got 26497 rank in inicet is there any chance to get md micro or md biochem in any of the Aiims colleges? kindly reply sir

kumardurgesh1802 30th Oct, 2024

Hello there,

With a rank of 26,497 in the INICET exam, the chances of securing an MD in Microbiology or MD in Biochemistry at any of the AIIMS colleges may be quite limited. Generally, the cutoffs for these prestigious institutions tend to be very competitive, especially for popular specializations like Microbiology and Biochemistry.

Suggested Steps:

  1. Check Previous Year Cutoffs : Review the previous year's cutoff ranks for these specializations at AIIMS to gauge the trend. This will give you a better idea of the likelihood of admission.

  2. Consider Other Colleges : While AIIMS is highly sought after, consider looking into other medical colleges that may offer MD programs in Microbiology or Biochemistry. Some state-run or private colleges may have slightly lower cutoffs.

  3. Stay Updated on Counseling : Follow the official INICET counseling process closely. Sometimes, there are last-minute changes or adjustments in seat availability.

  4. Be Open to Other Specializations : If your primary goal is to pursue a career in medicine, consider being flexible with your specialization choices. You might find opportunities in other areas of interest.

In summary, while it might be challenging to secure a seat in MD Microbiology or Biochemistry at AIIMS with your rank, keeping an eye on the cutoffs and exploring other options could improve your chances.

I hope this answer helps you. If you have more queries then feel free to share your questions with us we will be happy to assist you.

Thank you and wishing you all the best for your bright future.

Sahasra 11th Dec, 2024

Hello...

Your INI-CET rank of 26,497 may make it challenging to secure a seat in MD Microbiology or MD Biochemistry in the top-tier institutions under INI-CET (AIIMS, JIPMER, PGIMER, etc.), as these courses typically have high competition and limited seats.

But don't worry, cutoff ranks  varies each year depending on the number of candidates, their preferences, and seat availability. You can keep track of

  1. Check Previous Year Cutoffs : Look at the closing ranks for MD Microbiology and MD Biochemistry in various institutions from previous INI-CET rounds. This will give you an idea of your chances.

Here is an example u can refer : https://dqxeclau.top/university/all-india-institute-of-medical-sciences-jodhpur/cut-off

2. Participate in Counseling : Register for the counseling process, as sometimes seats in less sought-after institutions or courses become available in later rounds.
