is it possible to change the medical college in the second year of postgraduate course(MD)

shivamtrivedi0005 21st Aug, 2023

Hii there,

Certainly, the transfer or migration of students between medical colleges is permissible, but this option is only available during the second year of their professional course, subsequent to successfully passing the first MBBS examinations. Several conditions must be met, including:

  1. A valid and well-founded reason must be provided to justify the request for transferring from one college to another.
  2. The student must have attained a minimum aggregate score of 70% in the first-year university examinations on their initial attempt.
  3. Transfers are exclusively allowed for regular batch students and are not applicable to repeat candidates.
  4. Essential prerequisites encompass obtaining prior approval from the Medical Council of India (MCI) or the relevant university, as well as securing No Objection Certificates (NOC) from both the originating and receiving colleges.

I hope this answers your question.
