Total MDS seats in India by department and college 2025, astute 7,175 MDS seats are available in India across a number of dental institute. The government and private dentistry colleges shares these slots. In particular there are 6363 MDS seat and 956 government MDS seats. The Medical Counselling Committee administers counselling for All India quota seats, while state handles rest of it through NEET MDS.

With an All India Rank of 5588 in NEET MDS (OBC category), you have a good chance to get admission in government dental colleges in Maharashtra like:

GDC Mumbai

GDC Nagpur

GDC Aurangabad

These colleges usually have closing ranks much higher than 5588 for OBC, so you’re in a safe range for Round 1 or 2 counseling.

Your chances of getting a BDS seat at prestigious government a dental colleges are slim if you have a NEET 2025 all India rank of 23000 and fall into the SC category, but you still have some options, particularly at private or DMD University and less demand clinical or para clinical branches.

Register through MCC counselling for deemed university's and your state counselling for state quota seats. also don't miss the chance to participate in mop up and stray vacancy rounds.
