Manidipa Kundu Student Expert 13th Mar, 2020

hi,

see there is no specific marks need in tancet exam to opt for counselling, candidates need to pass be/ btech from a recognized university also must secure 50% marks in graduation (general category ), for sc/st candidates marks criteria is 45%, also the candidates need to satisfy the 10+2+4 years or 10+3+3 years pattern of study. candidates who have valid gate score can directly sit for counselling process.

Richa Gautam 31st Mar, 2020
Raw Score - Marks scored by a candidate in Part-1 + Part-2 + Part-3 ofTANCET Exam.

Part 1 is Engineering Mathematics, Part 2 is Basic Engineering & Science and Part 3 is for different Disciplines.

NormalisedScore- The Mean marks of Raw Scores for different discipline may vary.

The conducting authority will use following formula for calculating normalized score:
40 + (10/S) (r-m)
where, S - standard deviation; m - mean marks; r - raw marks
1+ for correct nd ,-1/3 for incorrect one

harshitasharansrivastava Student Expert 18th Mar, 2020
Hello aspirant,

The TANCET cut off is calculated based on the following factors:

  • Number of seats available
  • Number of candidates registered forTANCET
  • Total number of test-takers
  • Difficulty level of the exam

As per the details provided by you, it is very difficult for you to get into University Departments of Anna University - CEG, Chennai as there cut off is at a score above 60.

Good luck

Shivangi Kumari 16th Mar, 2020
Hello Vaishnavi ,

As you know that your percentile score will be considered for admission into any college. And you have scored really well. Every university releases their own cutoffs depending upon number of seats available and availability of students.  Based on previous year cutoff trends , you have strong chances to get admission into Anna University (CEG). The basic eligibility criteria for admission is a candidate must have done B.E/B.Tech with 50% marks . Good luck .

Hope this helps !

Dear sir, for msc student , from which questions asked in gate for mtech. And what branch I get in mtech if I do mtech after bsc pcm?

Sonali Sahu Student Expert 4th Sep, 2019

Hello,

A Bsc students can't appear GATE as it is for Btech or Engineering graduates. If a student want to appear GATE exam then he needs to be an engineering graduate from a recognised college.

So if you are a Bsc student then you can't appear GATE exam. You have to choose another way to go for higher studies or a way to get a job.

Hope it helps!

Dear sir, I am doing bsc pcm. In iit jam, questions of which filed asked ? I want to do mtech after msc.

snehasinha1718 Student Expert 4th Sep, 2019

Hey,

There are seven objective-type test papers in IIT JAM: Chemistry (CY), Physics (PH), Mathematics (MA), Geology (GG), Biological Sciences (BL), Mathematical Statistics (MS), Biotechnology (BT). 30 questions having 10 questions of 1 mark each and 20 questions of two marks each. Each question will have four choices out of which only one choice will be a correct one.
It will be beneficial for you to begin your exam preparation during your graduation. Most of the questions are asked from what you study during your graduation years, therefore, you must be very thorough with the degree course. It is indeed important for you to clear your concepts and have a proper understanding of each topic/chapter. Also, to keep your preparation on track, you must also make notes while studying for the exam.
Depending on the course that you are opting for, getting acquainted with the syllabus is the first and foremost thing to do.The syllabus of IIT JAM is announced by the organizing institute or respective institutes well in advance. Therefore, be sure to prepare each and every topic that has been mentioned in the IIT JAM Syllabus.
The more you solve the previous year question papers, the better understanding you get about attempting the final exam.
There are various IIT JAM books by different authors. Referring to these books while preparing for the exam will help you extensively.

Hope this helps.
