My Daughter got 93 Percentile in JEE Main Session 1. Our Quota is OBC-NCL. Want to know for Mechanical or ECE if we can get seat in any of the NIT or GFTIs. Our Home State is Telangana

Ankit 15th Feb, 2025

With 93 percentile in JEE Main Session 1 and OBC-NCL category , your daughter has a good chance of getting Mechanical or ECE in some NITs and GFTIs , especially under the Home State quota . In NIT Warangal (Telangana's NIT) , the cutoff for OBC-NCL in these branches is usually higher , so admission may be tough. However, she may get a seat in other NITs like NIT Raipur, NIT Jalandhar, NIT Patna, or newer NITs . GFTIs like IIITDM Jabalpur, Assam University, or PEC Chandigarh can also be good options. Check JoSAA cutoffs for better clarity.

can i get mechanical in mmut gorakhpur with 85 percentile my domiciled state is uttar pradesh

kumardurgesh1802 12th Feb, 2025

Hello there,

With 85 percentile in JEE Mains and Uttar Pradesh domicile , you have a good chance of getting Mechanical Engineering at MMUT Gorakhpur through UPCET counseling (formerly UPSEE).

Why?

  • MMUT reserves 90% of its seats for UP domicile candidates , which increases your chances.

  • Previous cutoffs for Mechanical Engineering at MMUT have been around 80-85 percentile for General candidates.

    Next Steps:

1. Participate in UPCET (UPTAC) counseling and list MMUT as a preference.
2. Check last year's cutoff trends once the official counseling starts.
3. Backup Plan – Keep other state universities or private colleges as alternatives.

You have a realistic chance of getting a seat, but it depends on cutoff variations each year.

I would recommend you to use JEE Mains College Predictor Tool by Careers360 to get the list of possible colleges you can get with your rank or percentile.

I hope this answer helps you. If you have more queries then feel free to share your questions with us we will be happy to assist you.

Can I get IUST mechanical with 65%ile in jee mains 2025(I live in kashmir)?

Kenma Kozume 11th Feb, 2025

hi ,

Admission to the B.Tech Mechanical Engineering program at the Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) is based on a combination of JEE Main scores and academic performance. Specifically, IUST allocates a 60% weightage to JEE Main (Paper-I) scores and 40% to marks from the qualifying examination.

A JEE Main score of 45.874 corresponds to a percentile range of approximately 64 to 74. Given your percentile of 65, you fall within this range, suggesting that you have a reasonable chance of securing admission to the Mechanical Engineering program at IUST.

However, it's important to note that admission cutoffs can vary each year based on factors such as:

  • The number of applicants
  • The overall performance of candidates
  • The availability of seats

Therefore, while your percentile places you within a competitive range, admission is not guaranteed. It's advisable to regularly check IUST's official notifications for the most up-to-date information on admission criteria and to consider applying to multiple institutions to enhance your chances of securing a seat in your desired program.

hope this helps

can i get top 10 iit through GATE 2025 with 55 marks with sc category in mechanical design

Kenma Kozume 11th Feb, 2025

hi ,

Securing admission to a top IIT for a Master's program in Mechanical Engineering through GATE depends on several factors, including your GATE score, category, and the specific cutoffs of each institution.

GATE Qualifying Marks for Mechanical Engineering (2024):

  • General: 28.6
  • OBC-NCL/EWS: 25.7
  • SC/ST/PwD: 19.0

Admission Cutoffs for Top IITs:

Admission cutoffs vary annually and are influenced by factors such as the number of applicants, seat availability, and overall performance. For instance, in previous years, the GATE cutoff for Mechanical Engineering at IIT Madras was around 778 for the General category and 522 for SC candidates.

Estimating Your Admission Prospects:

With a raw score of 55 marks in GATE 2025, your GATE score (out of 1000) will be determined after normalization. Given that the SC category qualifying mark is 19.0, a score of 55 is significantly higher, which strengthens your eligibility.

Next Steps:

  1. Await Official Results: Once the GATE 2025 results are announced, check your official GATE score out of 1000.

  2. Review IIT Cutoffs: Examine the specific cutoffs for the IITs you're interested in, focusing on the SC category for Mechanical Engineering.

  3. Apply Through COAP: Participate in the Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP) for IIT admissions, where you can view and accept offers from various institutes.

hope this helps
