What is the annual tuition fees for BE mechanical

Abhi sonkar 25th Jul, 2025

good afternoon, average B.E. Mechanical Engineering Fees in India

Government Colleges    25,000 – 75,000    Lower fees due to state subsidies; SC/ST students often pay much less

Private Colleges    1,00,000 –2,50,000    Varies by reputation, location, and facilities

Top Institutes (IITs/NITs)    75,000 – 2,50,000    Includes tuition + other charges; hostel fees extra

SC/ST category students often benefit from fee waivers or scholarships, especially in government and centrally funded institutions. In some cases, the effective annual fee can drop below 10,000.

Can i get mechanical engineering with 530000 rank in jee mains in pmec berhampur in pmec institutional spot admission which would be held in mid September as ojee counselling or ojee special round does not allows outstate candidates

Nikita shahi 25th Jul, 2025

Hi,

With a rank of 5.3 lakh in JEE Mains, getting a mechanical seat in PMEC Berhampur through normal OJEE counselling is very difficult, especially if you're an out-of-state candidate. OJEE mostly reserves seats for Odisha state students in the earlier rounds, and only a few institutional spot rounds might consider others.

However, if the college has vacant seats in September’s spot/institutional round, and they allow direct admission based on vacant quota, there’s a chance you could be considered. The issue is many Odisha colleges do not allow out-of-state students unless stated clearly by OJEE.

For more information you can check this link:

You can also consider other private colleges in nearby states that may accept your score.

Thank you!

My rank in general category is 3221 so I will get admission in mechanical branch in a government engineering college sir

Nikita shahi 21st Jul, 2025

Hii,

If you belongs to  general category and your rank is 3221, you actually stand a decent chance of securing admission in Mechanical Engineering in many government engineering colleges, especially if you’re applying through a state-level counselling process where the total number of seats is higher.

While this branch is in demand, the competition for it isn’t as intense as Computer Science or Electronics in many states. So, a rank around 3200 is considered strong for mechanical in most counselling rounds especially if you have filled in your choices wisely during the option entry process.

Thank you

I have got seat in sastra university, tanjavur in BTech mechanical.I want a suggestion from u that is , Sastra mechanical or local eamcet CLGs cse

gopi 16th Jul, 2025

Hello naveen kumar,

Deciding between SASTRA University (Mechanical) and a local EAMCET college (CSE) will mainly come down to your long term career goals and reputation of the college you will be attending.

  • If you want to focus on coding, have aspirations for IT jobs, or are interested in tech start ups - then a CSE from a decent local EAMCET college will probably provide you with more job opportunities, internships, and placements in the software sector.
  • If you like the reputation of SASTRA, find it to have a superior overall reputation in general, have more infrastructures (libraries, sports, etc.), and are fine with committing to a Mechanical Engineering program but want to pursue a career in core jobs, public sector jobs and or interdisciplinary job areas so it will still open doors and you could also self-train in the software or information space if you desired.

JEE rank required for NIT Kurukshetra Mechanical?

gopi 16th Jul, 2025

Hello Srinidhi,

In order to acquire Mechanical Engineering at NIT Kurukshetra, generally the required JEE Main rank will be in the range of:

  • Home State Quota (Haryana): Up to 40,000 (general category)
  • Other State Quota: Up to 20,000-25,000 (general category)

The cutoffs that I have provided above change from year to year, as well as category and gender. For reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC/EWS), the ranks are much more relaxed.

I have got Indira Gandhi Institute of Technology, Sarang (electrical engineering) in 1st round of ojee counselling. It was my 4th choice. Should I accept my seat or float? My other 3 choices are 1) mechanical engineering [vssut burla] 2) electrical and electronics engineering [vssut burla] 3)electrical engineering[vssut burla] There are 2 more rounds left. Also should I participate in csab( only for nits).

Rithwik Kumar Sahu 31st Jul, 2025

Since you've been allotted Electrical Engineering at IGIT Sarang (4th choice) and your top 3 preferences are at VSSUT Burla which is a more reputed institute with better academics and placements it's wise to choose "Float" and try for a higher option in the next 2 OJEE rounds. If your rank is close to the previous cutoffs of your preferred branches at VSSUT, your chances are decent.

Also, if you're eligible for CSAB counselling (through JEE Main) and interested in getting into NITs, IIITs, or GFTIs, you should participate. It provides another good opportunity, especially if your JEE rank is within range of those institutes' cutoffs.
